Man, I love words. Always been a lover of quotes. Of how words come together, evoke emotions, etc.
When I was in high school I made a book of quotes for my boyfriend. All handwritten words that resonated with me at the time. Stuff about love and hope and friendship. All that good stuff that speaks to young love. I gave it to him and off it went into the world. My Mom, bless her heart, was so mad that I did not make copies of it at the time. She knew that someday down the road I would love to see it again (and she also thought I could have sold it LOL). And of course, because she is so smart, I would love to see it again. Who knows if it is still out there...it lives in my memory and maybe in the memory of that sweet boy I gave it to way back when.
Fast forward to 2005. My art has become a bit more sophisticated. Add in type and a bit of computer knowledge. And patterned paper. And a few accents here and there. And a new vision. A book just for me. Of quotes that speak to me in 2005. Quotes of art and creativity and simple living and growth. And a pair of wings...

That is too stinkin' cool! So beautiful too. I might have to do something similar with all the quotes I have collected. It would sure be better than having them just sit in boxes. :)
By the way, where did you find your butterfly stamp? I've been looking for something similar for awhile.

The new book is beautiful -- and, if i may say so, way cooler than the original!
I still remember the exact book. (It was a binder, wasn't it?!)
I remember how amazing it was, and how much work you put into it.
I often think of the special things that I made for boyfriends and friends of the past -- wishing I could have the art back that I made for them! (Or I hope at least they're taking care of it!)
The wings on your new creation are the coolest part of the book. It's a symbol to me of how your ideas and creativity have now flown all over the world. If Colin knew better--he would read this, and send it to you...you never know!
