Words.

Man, I love words. Always been a lover of quotes. Of how words come together, evoke emotions, etc.
When I was in high school I made a book of quotes for my boyfriend. All handwritten words that resonated with me at the time. Stuff about love and hope and friendship. All that good stuff that speaks to young love. I gave it to him and off it went into the world. My Mom, bless her heart, was so mad that I did not make copies of it at the time. She knew that someday down the road I would love to see it again (and she also thought I could have sold it LOL). And of course, because she is so smart, I would love to see it again. Who knows if it is still out there...it lives in my memory and maybe in the memory of that sweet boy I gave it to way back when.
Fast forward to 2005. My art has become a bit more sophisticated. Add in type and a bit of computer knowledge. And patterned paper. And a few accents here and there. And a new vision. A book just for me. Of quotes that speak to me in 2005. Quotes of art and creativity and simple living and growth. And a pair of wings...

Groovy, groovy, groovy!
And on a happy note: my HS boyfriend of several years gave me everything I had ever given him, made him, wrote to him...in a big cardboard box when he broke up with me. He was kind enough to return all the letters I wrote to him his first year of college (I was a senior in HS) to me. The letters he wrote to me were missing in action... He gave me back the envelopes though... JERK! ;)
Thanks for letting me bare my soul on your blog groovy Ali!

Ali,
Boy do I remember that book. And I remember saying "Ali, you need to make a copy of that. I'm sure you could sell that book." I still think you can do the same thing with many of the books you are creating now. Not only selling the ideas, for all these great scrappers you are inspiring to make their own books, but having the actual books published for people who don't have the creativity or time to make their own books. You have a great talent Ali and I am so proud to see you share your ideas with women (and men) all over the world!
Love, Mom

I love this, and I'm now inspired to put my collection of quotes in something prettier than my ratty old notebook...
Words - absolutely worth collecting, worth treasuring (in the end, after all the pretty paper and product, words are why I do this "scrapbooking thing.")
I wanted you to know that your words, shared so eloquently here, are what inspired me to try keeping my own blog. Now if I could just gather the courage to share it with someone other than my husband...!

OOOOOOH! I also love quotes. Collect them, email them, put them on my blog. Only the ones that really speak to me and my spirit. This is a lovely little project.

Love the quote book. I don't know if you've ever heard of "Isabella Catalog". They are a great source for quotes. The tag line for their catalog....Books and Gifts for Reawakening the Spirit. IsabellaCatalog.com
From one quote lover to another. Your vision inspires me. Thanks. I have been pumped since I left your ABC's of Color class at CKU-KC.
