Photo Express.

Visiting scrapbook stores rocks.
Plain and simple. It is one of my favorite parts of my job.
Held a couple workshops at Photo Express in Maple Ridge, BC on Saturday. It was a HAPPY time. Great staff. Awesome selection. Fantastic students - seriously loved you guys. Got to have sushi with three wonderful women on Friday night. So much fun. Can't wait to go back.
Part of what makes Photo Express so cool is that, in addition to being a scrapbook store, it is also home to a camera store, developer, and photo studio (among other things). Totally a one stop shop. So of course I had to get a little camera while I was there...picked up the new little Canon Power Shot SD500...been wanting something small for all this traveling I have been doing. Not so easy to pack the Digital Rebel around.
And as usual, I found something I had not seen before that I just had to get. At Photo Express it was these cool little notebooks called Sarabinders from Hot Off the Press. They are small blank books that you can fill with pockets, envelopes, address pages, blank pages, or planner pages. A seriously cool system. Had to get a couple of course.
And I got a sneak peek at new FANTASTIC stamps and stuff from Fontwerks. I am guessing there will be some sneak peeks this week but I don't want to give anything away yet...just know that the stamps brought lots of screams of delight.
Got home yesterday and went to bed. Slept from 3pm until 7am this morning. It was MUCH needed after such a great weekend. And to get me ready to attack my projects this week.
Also, a couple people have emailed me recently and asked about subscribing to my blog. I put up the link over on the left at the bottom to be able to subscribe. Hope that helps. And, if you have emailed me lately I am behind again (what's new) - I will try to get back in touch with you soon!

Hi Ali,
I am searching for a camera for travel too. What made you choose the Cannon? I love that it is a 7 mp but are there other features that make it stand out? Is it easy to use? I haven't actually seen this camera in person but I am going to a camera store this week to see it. Please send me your reviews.

Ali, you have such a fun life! I love keeping up with all of your travels and projects. Glad you enjoyed your time in Canada, we really are a beautiful country. I love my Canon Powershot (good choice!) How cool is it that the store has a Photo Studio attached?!

Hey Ali, I think you'll love the SD500. I have one (you held it in your hands at CKU-A Provo actually, heh) and it just makes me happy. I opted for it instead of a dRebel because I knew I wouldn't take it out as much because its just so HONKIN BIG. I know you can relate.
Looking forward to the new Fontwerks releases too :)

Hey girl. Thanks for inspiring me. Yes, I too loved the sweater. Did you knit that yourself? I seriously need help with knitting too. ;) As for the classes, thanks for helping me finally learn how to hook up my camera to the computer, etc. Even if I stayed up until 1am to print off pictures.
Let's see how long it takes me to actually finish off the projects. So when you come back next year, make sure it's in the summer so that you can hit some cool places like the Night Market and girl, I am a total foodie so I have a list of awesome restaurants. Japanese, Malaysian, Indonesian, Indian, Italian, Balkan, etc. Yummy. Yummy.

I love PE :) It is a great store - I only wish it was not an over an hour away. Michele is super nice! Looks like you guys had a great time. I considered the Cannon camera but went for the new Panasonic FZ30 instead. Have fun with your new toy - and come back and visit us up here again soon :)
PS - love the sweater!!

Hey Ali - glad you had so much fun up here - it was great seeing you again! That said, that's a relatively "tame" picture you chose to post - we all look like normal, sane, well-behaved ladies! Bring back the angel wings!
Be organic, J.
