Lovely.
Tags:Ventured out to do some errands this afternoon. Lovely Oregon weather.
Hit Target and Costco for some essentials: pull-ups, OJ, socks & undershirts for the dude, dog food, white washcloths, etc.
Been to either store lately? Spring has sprung big time. Oh, the loveliness.
Gear for spring. Clothes for spring. Bags and garden stuff and tons of sunshine happiness. LOL and it continues right on raining. But man that stuff is happy.
Walking around the clothes in Target I had a little thanksgiving breakthrough. It struck me once again how different my life is because of scrapbooking. I was thinking about the impact that other people have had on me, people that I have met through scrapbooking. Looking around at the clothing section I was thinking about Elsie and her passion for color and flowers and goodness. Because of her I have continued to open myself up to colors, espeically in my wardrobe. And in my clothing choices I feel I have become more open to little details and patterns and colors...I found the cutest night shirt at Target that is bright green with a sewn on owl in the bottom corner - I saw it and it just made me happy.
That made me think about Jackie & Shelley and how much I have always admired and been inspired by their use of color.
I think my choices of clothing have become a lot more feminine over the last few years as well. Something about art and being creative makes me want to wear skirts. Funky, fun skirts. I don't remember ever being a fun dresser before scrapbooking.
I have also learned that things don't always have to be straight and precise. Tonight I was working on some things for CKU-A and I was using my scissors to cut things up : this is HUGE people. No measuring, no worrying about straight lines. I am liberated. I am letting it go. I am having fun. Keeping it playful. I still love straight lines...but in this case it is more about embracing the imperfections of a non-straight line (and it goes a whole lot quicker).
And another something happy...I got a sneak peek of Carrie's wedding invites today. Seriously happy.

I went out to Michael's today and I have to agree with you color is everywhere!!! So bright and fun! It made me very happy!
I've also gone to wearing brighter clothes the last year or so. My children tell me I shouldn't buy anymore Lime Green shirts BUT I just can't help myself. Truely a HAPPY color!!

oh yeah. gotta love the rain. I think we're on day number 30-something here...the wet-coast! I'm just glad it's warm, and not snow :) I took some pictures like that one on our trip home after thanksgiving, and the rain reminded me of home :)

The rain never seems to stop huh? I ventured out with the little one today as well. It's quite a challenge when it's soggy.
I love finding things out there that make me happy. :)

I have got to agree with you Ali, since scrapbooking I look at all sorts of things in different ways including color, this hobby has been a life changing event for me, in so many good ways I could never count them all.

Ali,
it's nice to see the spring stuff on the shelves!
your owl nightshirt sounds great -- i have a t-shirt with a small owl in the middle and the word "WHO?" right under it.

I was in the mid-Willamette valley for the holidays, visiting my in-laws. It rained so much that many of the pastures were lakes. Not my idea of fun. I guess you have to take the good with the bad... and the beauty of Oregon far outweighs the rain, IMO.

Funy how something that starts as a hobbie can actually TRANSFORM your life. I notice everything now...I realized there is no such thing as "the little things in life" everything is a "big" thing...now I try to enjoy every moment of the day!

I'm cracking up...I can relate to this post on too many levels. For instance...I had another scrapper on my mind when I went on my cardstock shopping trip 2 weeks ago. Plunked down a big healthy stack of spring on the counter. dang...it's pretty. BUT I DON'T SCRAP USING SPRING!! I'm a earthtone scrapper. Have been forever. To the point that even the cashier noticed. "Sharyn...are these for you?" Doggone it, YES they are.
Now I just have to figure out how the heck to use them.

I do love Target! Can you email me when you get a chance. I have some questions for you. I am applying to teach a class in my town and I've never done something like this. I'm totally venturing out of my safe zone and teaching!!! This was one of my major goals/resolutions for the new year. I totally need some advice!!!
Thanks!

Just had to comment. I read your blog every day. And so does my husband! He's madly in love with you. Doesn't even hide it.
I can't even count the times that you have "made my day" by your beautiful thoughts and words. It's not one particular thing, it's just you.
Thanks for being you.

Target and Spring make me giddy with joy too!
It is kinda funny how my little hobby has changed the way I view color and shape in everyday things. Thanks for reminding me of that.
