Rain

Ventured out to do some errands this afternoon. Lovely Oregon weather.

Hit Target and Costco for some essentials: pull-ups, OJ, socks & undershirts for the dude, dog food, white washcloths, etc.

Been to either store lately? Spring has sprung big time. Oh, the loveliness.

Gear for spring. Clothes for spring. Bags and garden stuff and tons of sunshine happiness. LOL and it continues right on raining. But man that stuff is happy.

Walking around the clothes in Target I had a little thanksgiving breakthrough. It struck me once again how different my life is because of scrapbooking. I was thinking about the impact that other people have had on me, people that I have met through scrapbooking. Looking around at the clothing section I was thinking about Elsie and her passion for color and flowers and goodness. Because of her I have continued to open myself up to colors, espeically in my wardrobe. And in my clothing choices I feel I have become more open to little details and patterns and colors...I found the cutest night shirt at Target that is bright green with a sewn on owl in the bottom corner - I saw it and it just made me happy.

That made me think about Jackie & Shelley and how much I have always admired and been inspired by their use of color.

I think my choices of clothing have become a lot more feminine over the last few years as well. Something about art and being creative makes me want to wear skirts. Funky, fun skirts. I don't remember ever being a fun dresser before scrapbooking.

I have also learned that things don't always have to be straight and precise. Tonight I was working on some things for CKU-A and I was using my scissors to cut things up : this is HUGE people. No measuring, no worrying about straight lines. I am liberated. I am letting it go. I am having fun. Keeping it playful. I still love straight lines...but in this case it is more about embracing the imperfections of a non-straight line (and it goes a whole lot quicker).

And another something happy...I got a sneak peek of Carrie's wedding invites today. Seriously happy.
