More photos from Simon & a road trip with Paolo.
Tags:Super smart Auntie Liz brought her little digital with us to dinner Friday night at Anthony's. Simon assumed the photographer duties with his wonderful artistic eye. I love watching him with the camera. He is so very serious.
And it totally kept him busy while waiting for our dinner. That was key.
I drove home early yesterday morning with one of my best lifetime buddies Paolo. He had come with Mom, Simon and I to the zoo and museum on Friday and had the brilliant idea to drive down to Eugene with me and then fly home. He works for Alaska Airlines so he can do that sort of thing on a whim (nice, huh?). It was awesome. We caught up, chatted about life & creativity & writing and just basically had the best time. Made a little detour trip to Target (video iPod purchsed), drank BLACK coffee, and then visited the Lane County Farmer's Market (quintessential Eugene) when we got into town. If that's not an artist's date I don't know what is...
Farmer's Markets are such a cool place to observe stuff. The colors and the colorful people make great subjects. We walked around, ate some pizza, and headed back to my place before going to the airport.
Such a wonderful, refreshing few days. Tomorrow morning I head to Salt Lake for a couple days of meetings and then on to Houston for Carrie's wedding. Can't wait for that!
Hoping to get through a bunch of emails today too - so if you contacted me recently I will be in touch.

Love Simon's pics. Enjoy your video ipod! I looooove mine. They are also useful for keeping a small child busy in a restaurant! On itunes you can download lots of kiddie shows like Dora and Little Einsteins!

Love seeing Simon's photos. My DD is the same age, and seeing her photos always drives home what it's like to look at everyone's kneecaps! How frustrating it must be to be little and powerless sometimes. Plus, it's just fun seeing stuff from her perspective! :-)
Glad you had a good trip!

Sounds like a fun trip. I meant to tell you about this camera that someone at the last crop at my LSS mentioned. She said her daughter loves it!

always cool to see a child's perspective with a camera. my son got a hold of my camera when he was about 4 and when i developed the pictures, it looked like a bunch of junk, when i looked closer, he had taken pictures of all of his treasures, including blues clues which was on tv at the time. priceless and precious. give him an old camera and tell him to take a picture of his favorite things. you will be surprised.
