What is your happiness today?

Fresh strawberries, homemade cream, beating the rain home on our walk, a kindness from a neighbor I barely know, good emails and a new post on Ali's site. Lots of happiness & gratitude today

My happiness today is simple...knowing that the word 'love' holds so much. It's easy to 'get down' when my dear prince lives a 16 hour drive away. But hearing the words 'I love you' each night over the phone makes it all okay. Love can move mountains and it has. So, today my happiness comes from three words: 'I love you'!

My sweet son. Watching him sleep this morning melted all the stess from the previous day and helped me put today into perspective.

My dear sweet boy, who turned 2 months yesterday. He had a rough night last night, but I tell you what, those smiles when I come in to "rescue" him from the crib are quite possibly the most beautiful things in the world. They make the lack of sleep so totally okay.

when asked the direct question~ i always have to stop & remind myself (b/c yes i'm human & take things for granted)that i'm incredibly lucky & there4 happy everyday. i have an awesome family; adorable hubby, ds-4yrs, dd-2yrs, choc. lab-6yrs. just thinking about all of us together makes me happy, but my special treat today was picking my son up at school & getting a running hug w/ him screaming "mmooommmmy" from across the yard. BONUS~ getting his yr. end portfolio from the teacher w/ all his best art work~ doesn't get better than that. bet you're sorry you asked, huh!?! lol....

An afternoon nap with my husband (before the boys got home from school).

Thinking about the comment my 4yr old said when he saw a "bear" catch a bad guy on tv last night. I was watching Datelines "to catch a predator" my son happens to walk by the tv when a undercover cop in a gilles suit jumps out to arrest a "predator". He says nothing to me, but when his dad got home a little later(his dad is a police officer working late as always) and he tells his dad that he say a bear catch a bad guy. The pure innocence of my son and to hear my husband genuinly laugh is my happiness today.

The gleam in my 5 month old daughter's eyes as she realizes the world around her and decides to interect with it. Her joy at the sunlight, the shutters and my funny faces makes me happy.

...the relief that tomorrow is Friday!!!!

After being sick and bed-ridden for several weeks (pregnancy!), my happiness today came in the form of my hair stylist who came to my house, cut my hair and blow-dried it for me. It's the first time I've felt like myself in weeks.

My happiness today was seeing the goslings at my son's school - my how they've grown. My son and I look for them everyday when I pick him up. He brought his camera to take their picture because they are so cute - actually they are in that gangly "teenage" stage - if you can describe geese that way. LOL

What has made my day? Visiting a dear friend who has just had her first child. A child who has been a long time coming. To see her joy as she just stared and stared at his little face and totally forget that there was anything else. All the tears and disappointments had been washed away. To see someone falling in love with their child completely. These are the moments that make the world stop and return your faith in life. I felt very honoured to be able to watch such a moment.

Well, Let me think....I have spent the day cleaning the fridge, my sons messy room and painting, and laundry....But I will find happiness in the fact that I have accomplished a Hell of a lot today and that has been my plan for the month of June. Getting things Done...and I am doing that and that brings me happiness!!!! Now back to painting....remember this makes me Happy

As a teacher happiness comes from the knowledge that in 2 days, school is out for summer. Yipee!! And I get to take a class from you in 2 DAYS.

Having dinner with my son and my husband at the same time! My son is working and doing his own thing this summer before he starts college and my husband works an hour from home. Hard to coordinate schedules so I jumped at the chance tonight!

The way my husband looked at me when he came home tonight. The smell of the herbs on the patio. Thanks Ali for making me remember the little things - too often I forget those things make me happy each day - its not really about the big things at all - it is about all enjoying each moment.
