So it started out normal...
Tags:and then took a bit of a turn. After coming home from a couple errands, I was eating and Chris was surfing online and Simon was out watching the elephant movie. After a bit I walked out there on my way upstairs and encountered a BIG mess. Simon had an "accident" of the number two variety and had gone through the process of walking through it, wiping it all over interesting places (furniture, TV, etc), and stomping it into the carpet. Lovely. I think maybe he had been dancing.
Chris headed out to get a steam cleaner almost immediately and I put Simon in the bath. A couple hours later this house is a whole lot cleaner than we ever imagined it would be today. Those steam cleaners work pretty darn well.
Since then Simon took a nap and just finished up running through the sprinkler.
Maybe, in the scope of our lives, this is really pretty normal after all.
Here's to you and whatever normal is in your life.

Ali........sounds like Simon had an absolute ball......leaving mum and dad to clean up the mess!LOL!
This all male household has seen some poop stories over the years....one of mine even wrote his name in it on the wall. I was so pleased that he could write his name that I overlooked the gross site of it all.

Isn't a poop story just thing to start a dreary day off with a smile? Thanks for the giggle. Enjoy your newly steam cleaned house!

O yes, sounds like a normal day to me too!
Did you know you can smear poop from your (just freshly cleaned!) toilet all the way through your hall and living room into the kitchen??? Even more fun if you have just adopted a little kitten...
Thanks for sharing... makes me feel like a very normal mom!!!

Another been there done that - but my son was asleep in his bed and rolled around in it and got it on the wall, the bed, his hair, everywhere! Believe it or not, it was the smell that woke my husband up from a deep sleep from across the house that made him check on him. Oh, it was a mess...and something you don't want to have to clean at one in the morning but you know you have to. lol Yep, everyday life!

What is "normal" anyway? You are doing a great job raising this boy! Challenge comes with the joy.
Your sprinkler pic is a winner! Pure joy!

That reminds me of this:
"Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are. Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart. Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow. Let me hold you while I may, for it may not always be so. One day I shall dig my nails into the earth, or bury my face in the pillow, or stretch myself taut, or raise my hands to the sky and want, more than all the world, your return. ~Mary Jean Iron
I "just happened" to come across that five years ago right before my life went from normal to "not always so"...

Well, what do they say about lemons and lemonaide? LOL My sisters ds who is also autistic, used to make his 'presents' and hide them in various places, the back of the closet, bottom of the toybox, inside Dad's shoes, ect... they would smell the 'gifts' but not be able to FIND them! So, at least Simon was obvious for you!? Right?! :O) Bless your heart... you are doing GREAT with him, he is a lucky lucky little boy!

Oh wow! Sounds like our morning! DD(is 7) got ds (10 months) our of his crib this morning. Yelled to me that he was poopy. I got in there to late. It was one of those up the back all over the jammies poop! He had crawled around and got it all over the carpet and on books that were on the floor. While cleaning up I picked up a book to clean that had the most on it. The book was "Everyone Poops". I almost fell over laughing!! Gotta love that book!
