Ok, I don't think I could love the Holiday project #2 any more than I already do. And, since I stamp a lot, I really enjoyed this week's AEzine. Thanks Ali!
You must have read my mind! I have been collecting alot of stamps lately, but haven't been putting them to any use really. I look foward to doing this challange!
Ali, I enjoyed the issue, as usual. I need to go through your gallery or books to look for clusters of stamps like in the challenge. I don't know if I've ever clustered stamps before and I don't remember noticing it on anyone else's layouts, either.
I want to wish you and your family the very best of luck in the election tomorrow. I'll be waiting to hear if Chris won!
thank you! your letters, books, your work, just amaze me. it is so packed with layers of ideas, i really enjoy it! thanks ali. and to keep it all so fresh, that is what truly inspires me about what and how you do what you do!
cheers!
Ali - Thank you! I am totally inspired and your example enlightens my creative energy. I tried so hard not to get my stamps out last night and go to bed.
Perfect timing- I'm in the process of re-organising my stamps. I keep collecting but not putting them to use so I will make an effort now. Thanks Ali you always sound so positive, you just make me want to go and be creative. When are you going to come over to the U.K. to teach???
Dear Ali,
This question is a little off subject, but I'd love to hear what you think.
Do you ever feel that scrapbooking today, with it's use of so much pre-determined product, isn't really art? I've been reading alot lately about Art Journals and Journaling in general, books by Gwen Diehn, Danny Gregory, Dan Price, Sabrina Ward Harrison and I have come to question what I'm doing with scrapbooking. Is it really art if you use so much decorative product on it that isn't your own? Ephemera used to be the "stuff" of one's own life, not packaged and sold at a store. I'm beginning to feel like a "fake" if I want to use something that I didn't make or that didn't come from my own life.
I just wondered if you ever thought about this, as I love your philosophy and also your work and would love to know how you get the two opposing factors to coexist?
Thanks,
Michelle
This is completely off topic but I am wishing Chris well today in the election. I will be watching and waiting to hear the good news! GOOD LUCK to all 3 of you!
I was introduced to scrapbooking through my stamping so I use stamps a lot also. I have bunches of layouts where I've created my own patterned paper with stamps and ink, and also layouts that use stamping as an embellishment. Lots of fun stuff to do with stamps. I really liked you're holiday project. I'm going to make a gratitude themed one for Thanksgiving. Every year I make a mini album at this time and I think this is it. I'm also going to make an inspiration one for my art area. Thank you for sharing with us. Hope Chris wins. Enjoy the insanity!
