Merry.
Tags:Lots of action and activity around here. Simon in the door. Simon out the door. Lots of Higglytown Heroes Christmas episode (thank you God for Tivo).
Totally embracing this moving process. Loving the new spaces here. I so enjoy finding new "homes" for things and re-discovering new uses for things we have owned forever. Moving baskets around. Setting up my studio - I have so much more room in here than I have had for the past year in the duplex. I feel like I can breathe in here. That is much needed.
I love re-discovering all Simon's books and toys that have been stashed away (or in another basket). We spent a good hour this morning reading books we had forgotten about - such a cool process. And like I said yesterday, the carpet is making me divinely happy. Nice and clean - the kind you can sit on and lay on and not just get totally grossed out.
The tree went up last night. Forgot again how much I love that smell. I tried to talk Chris into getting a fake tree again (with lights and everything all ready to go) but he will have nothing of it. And I am thankful.
Yesterday was one of the happiest days I have had in a long time. The three of us went out shopping, spent time together here around the house, put up the tree, met a neighbor, and watched Polar Express (a must watch holiday movie). I went to sleep just feeling good and content and relaxed and happy - even in the middle of all the boxes and mess. I think moving puts things in perspective - what you really need comes to the surface mighty quick. And just having time to drive around town with Chris and Simon without any work/school obligations on our plate was divine.
So today, on Christmas Eve, I want to wish each and every one of you a very Merry Christmas. Your support and kindness over the last couple of years has made a tremendous impact on my life and I will be forever grateful.
I hope that every one of you will be able to enjoy the twinkle of a room lit only by tree lights tonight (my favorite thing next to cream cheese with pepper jelly + wheat thins).
Merry Christmas.

I just watched The Polar Express last night too! How funny!
Merry Christmas to you all!
PS. Cream cheese and ANY jelly tastes good! :) I use Ritz type crackers though - like a mini cheese cake. ;)

I'm sure you had a wonderful Christmas in your brand new home. It will be interesting to read 'next year's' perspective after living in the new house for a year!
