Moving in...
Tags:Today is moving day! Here's a couple peeks at the new place before the boxes get here.
Edited:for those of you who were wondering, we moved because we had been renting and the time was finally right for us to own our own home again. We found a great house just a few miles from the place we had been renting.

And the reason I totally love this house...in my studio (and in Simon's bedroom) are these great, giant old-school built-in closets:
I am going to be able to get so much stuff in there.
And this is where I am sitting right now:
Planning to get a Christmas tree tonight. Simon is doing awesome. Totally gets the new house concept and wants all his toys moved to the new house asap.
For all the pain that moving is, it sure is fun to get into a new place. Love setting up everything in new places (and getting rid of stuff we are not using anymore). My friend Jill (who brought me more beer last night) is planning another garage sale for the beginning of March so I have been loading her up with lots of goodies both scrapbooking and otherwise. I will give you more details as that date gets closer.
Did I tell you that I am loving the carpet here - it is super cozy. We are all about cozy.

Thanks for sharing all of the pictures! We are in the exact same boat as your family...we are moving right after Christmas! In a way, I'd rather be movied in before Christmas though. I was wondering if you could tell us why you guys decided to move...just curious. Was it because you wanted a bigger space or because you're moving to another city? Sounds like you are renting this new place like you the one you're moving out of...am I right? I know I might be getting personal...but I was just curious. By the way...loved all your great pictures from Disneyworl...so fun!

how exciting for your family. I so love the experience of transforming an empty house into our home. It really is so interesting to notice afresh what it is that is meaningful to our family individually and together, what makes somewhere feel like home. Interesting too how that changes, particularly as our sons grow. Fabulous scrapbooking subject wouldn't you say :)

I love that you took time to post during such a busy time:-) Don't you sometimes wish you could keep the whole place empty? Looks so calming!
So happy to hear what a great time Simon had at WDW--sounds like he did incredibly well! It can be overwhelming for anyone and you did such a great job keeping it fun.
I wanted to pass on a recommendation (if you can still find it): a Christmas DVD called "The Very First Noel"---just a short sweet cartoon of the nativity story from the point of view of the 3 wise men. I know my son Aidan (who is 4 too) "gets" the whole Christmas story so much more from having seen it, and it is told with humor, really beautiful animation.
Amazon has it, WalMart did, and it is available on Direct TV or TV on Demand or something. Definitely a good one for Xmas Eve. Hope you can find it.

I especially like the pix of Simon watching the TV and he has his "friend" on the chair. Oh my, that so something my son would do. Hee! Don't you just love what kids do with their "stuff". hee! Glad to see everything going smoothly with the move. Oh, and love the Coffee sign in the kitchen. I need to get one of those. I am a coffee-holic lately! Darn starbucks!
