AEzine Challenge: one little word
Tags:From Issue Eleven of the AEzine: This week your challenge is to create something, anything, that celebrates your chosen word for 2007. Maybe a layout. Maybe a blog posting or a journal entry or a simple post-it note that you put somewhere you can see it each day. Make sure to journal about why you chose your word and what it means for you - the more you let yourself explore the more benefit you will receive in the end.
I am hoping I was able to jot all of your words down - the response has been phenomenal. Please let me know if I missed yours, of if you are adding a new one today I will catch it later on and add it onto the master list of amazing, wonderful, inspirational words.
Here you go:
Wow. I am seriously wowed by this list. By the creative and touching and tough words you chose. By your willingness to do something. So proud of each and every one of you.
As for me, I have my word (peace) up on my wall in my studio and a magnet on my fridge that reads:
My Mom also sent me a reminder of the Prayer of St. Francis today...it fits in with what I want for myself this year (and in my entire life):
I am so looking forward to seeing how you have been inspired to creatively document your word.
Happy Monday!

I am loving this whole concept, and the list is inspirational in it's own right - I love that it's created from words chosen by women from all over the world, who are united in this common aim, and I'm so excited to be part of it! My word for 2007 is focus, as I have so many dreams, so many ideas, and I need to focus on making them come true and on being the best me I can be. I haven't managed to get my layout done yet, but I'll post it on my blog (www.sprogpaws.typepad.com) over the next couple of days.
Thanks for this, Ali, you're a babe! :oD

I never have time to scrap book since my theme last year to live an enriched life helped me become a professional photographer. But a serendipitous self portrait and AEzine, while trying to determine what my theme would be this year lead to this simple layout: http://www.flickr.com/photos/monique_moki/346396135/in/set-72157594460570497/

Having a heck of a time coming up with one word. I am enjoying reading everyone's thoughts. Thanks for posting some words Ali, there are some in there that I forgot about. I will do my layout in the next couple of days when I find the right word.

My word is dream...to dream of the possibilities that my life can become, and to not be afraid of that dream, but to dream that dream.
Thank you so much for leading me into this process! I have contacted my non scrapbooking friends to have them read your blog so that they can find their word for 2007 too.

Like several others, I chose CREATE. I made a mini album about it, which you can see on my blog at: http://tiffanyscrapmatrix.typepad.com/tiffany_scrap_matrix/. I also tied it to my goal for Heidi Swapp's A Year to Remember Class at BPS. I'm very grateful for this ispiring idea Ali - thank you!!

My word is Resolve. I have decided to do a word a month and incorporate into my calendar. 12 words for the year. Such a great idea, Ali!

My word was already used, but Place is the concept that is driving me in 2007. You are welcome to read about it in my blog, and to see the layout I did. Place = peace.

My word: PURPOSE
My brother-in-law just passed away after a tragic accident, leaving my sister with four young kids, one of them an infant. Throughout the ordeal I have been reexamining my life and my purpose here. I realize I have been living a wasteful life lately. Wasting time. Wasting talents. Wasting money. Even wasting food. This year I want to turn that around and go back to living a life with purpose.

Hi Ali,
Had to think hard on my word. In no time I came up with a whole bunch, but the one I ended up with all the time is MORE. In 2007 I'm going to spend MORE time with my parents (they're in their 70ties) and my siblings (no MORE arguing about attending birthdayparties (which I hate), I'm just going), I'm going to take MORE time for me to do my things, I'm going to watch my diet MORE (I have to loose some weight), I'm going to bed MORE early, I'm going to spend MORE time with friends (just today I received a letter from a friend I had not seen for some years (it felt so good)). Funny thing is that I first wrote 'I want ...' which I changed to 'I'm going ...'
Ali, thanks for reminding me of what is important.

Ali,
I believe my word for the year will be Minimize. I have been married for 30 years and living in the same house for almost all of those 30 years. Minimize - stuff in the basement, stuff in closets, stuff in scrapbooking drawers . . . Mnimize! Yep, that's the word I'll continue to say all year! It's not about organizing, even though organizing will go along with minimizing, but simplifying and simplifying will make me happy and organized. It will all work together! Thanks for the push that I needed to keep this in the forefront of my brain!!!!! Jenell

EXPLORE is the word I chose after much deliberation. At first, I was going to choose CREATE, but then it started feeling like "work" and I wanted something liberating. Then I thought LEARN, but again, it conjured up feelings of "work". So I landed on EXPLORE because that covered my natural curiosity and creative-bend.
I stubled onto your site last week and I just loved it. Finally, I have a definition for this urge to "create" things for myself/friends/family: Life Artist. I just love it. Thanks for the inspiration!

I became aware of the layout mistake while I was posting the picture, so I'll go fix that now! Thanks for the thought-provoking challenge.
