Hi Ali,
I have been thinking about “Life Art” for a couple of days. It’s fun to know everybody’s “Life Art” Life Art to me is discovering, developing and establishing my own style and add personality to everyday event. Life art is how to express myself in not only scrap booking but also in gift giving, tea serving, way of living etc…. everything!
Question! I am a scrapbook beginner. I would like to know your decision making process to make a layout. Do you decide all layout process first? I want to know why you pick the specific colors, papers, stamps and pictures for the layout. What are you thinking while you are creating?
I am sorry to ask strange questions. Anyway, I love your projects and want to know how you create them. I can’t wait to read your new book!

When I read about the words LIFe art, what it meant to me was ones' journey. As one goes thru life as a woman, as a wife, as a mother, its the connection of life and hobby that takes you to the depths of your soul,.. even if you are shy and not so outgoing being a life artist turns you to be expressive, and instant writer or creative person by way of journalling and in the interpretation of layouts.... life isnt just all honky dorry happy. Not even your photos are perfect. In my scrapbooks life art is reflected there --- every emotion, every low point, and every high point, every hideous thing my kids do.. its just my personal journey as parent, as friends to my scrapbooking community and as a 'pay it forward stranger' who encourages others to become life artists. I feel 7ft tall when they say words like WOW and thank YOU because they appreciate that I have shared myself and started something worthwhile in their lives...

Life art-> allowing myself the time to STOP and LIVE my LIFE, and then CREATE something that will help my family REMEMBER it and that makes me HAPPY:) So glad you coined this phrase!

Life Art
A personal creation that no one (no matter who they are) can take away from you.
Capturing the moments that happen around you.
Everyday things!!! A clean kid, the full dishwasher, your favourite part of the day.
A balancing act.
The way you see the ‘pace’ that happens around you AND the amount of time you stand there watching it.
Life moves too fast to simply just “live it”.
EXPERIENCE it!!
Take the time to look at the life that’s spinning around you.
Look at it as the ART that you have created.
It’s priceless……this rare piece of canvas.
And the picture on that canvas will change every single day.
The faces will change.
The scenery changes.
The expressions and feelings will change so dramatically as well.
YOU are the Artist that can determine the way in which others view your LIFE …. this precious piece of ART.
The brush is in your hands.

life art?
mmmmmmmmmm.
its about the good days and the ugly days. the days with spots, the days with perfect eyebrows. Its about the bills and the joys of a 10% discount. Finding a penny in the gutter. Dealing with negatives and coming through a better person. and its not always about the thought. Its about the action, the reaction and pro-action.
then the best thing about all of that is

journalling it with a picture then encasing it in a book or on paper to share. Cocooned forever - our own personal time capsules.

Hi Ali, my thoughts on life art. Being able to see the extraordinary in the ordinary.
Seeing the beauty and appreciating the moments that come to us in our everyday lives. We can all appreciate the beauty of a pristine national park but how about the way the light falls on the plants in my garden as I have my morning coffee, or the look my little boys face when he sees the garbage truck coming up the street. Thats magic right there. In my own backyard. Amidst the mundane things there is always beauty.

Hi, Ali! (and Simon!) I think Life IS Art. I find myself looking at things and seeing their form and beauty. I get to drive to and from work each day along the water's edge in Florida. Each day is different...the water, the tide, the sky, the way the trees blow when there is wind...I just could go on and on about this, but even while sitting at a traffic light (& believe me there are plenty of them) something will catch my eye and I'll soak in that image and store it somewhere in my soul. The way the light hits during a certain time of day...oh, just plain looking at everything around you as a work of art...of course that includes the people as well as nature. Living in the moment. That little ride to work prepares me for the stress of the day; and the ride home allows me to leave the stress behind.

Life Art to me means the expression of our inner self - our feelings, our reflections, our truth. I can't wait to see the new book. You are truly a uniquely talented gal!
