Guess who?
Tags:Guess who is dressing himself?
Really and truly: underwear + pants + shirt (still working on the socks).
(Here's a hint...it is not Chris...he is already pretty skilled at doing it on his own...including ironing his own shirts. Today I took Simon to school and the first thing he played with was an iron & ironing board. Good training around the Edwards' house.)
Tonight he put on his PJ's without assistance (alright, there was one little hint from Dad on the arm not going through the head-hole).
It rocked.

That's AWESOME! We're still working on getting dressed independently 100% of the time. Love their independance!

Happy to celebrate the big accomplishments with you, Chris and Simon! Keep them coming! Love it! Yeah Chris for ironing your shirts. Before I left the house, I taught all my brothers to cook and iron for thmselves.
Hurray for the Edwards' home!

I would pretend my sons arms were "trains" and the "trains" had to go through the "arm tunnels" it worked so well because he was into trains! good luck!

I think part of the joy in having child with autism is that you don't take anything for granted. Little things to others (like getting dressed by oneself, or taking a shower and washing your own hair) are big things to our guys! We take baby steps and when we succeed....it is a joyful time! The feeling of total elation that your child mastered something that we all take for granted....priceless! Keep up the good work Simon! Check out my blog and see my son perform for the Spring Variety show...a feat no Special Ed student had ever done at this school! I never thought I would see that day! And he has a solo at the Spring concert in May! Great things can and will happen! (scrappergirl.typepad.com) Whoo Hoo to our kids! :)
