Anna Quindlen quote.
Tags:I had a couple requests to repost this Anna Quindlen quote that I had on the side bar over to the left this past week. Here you go - it is such a good one:
You can read more of her words - I especially love some of her commencement address: Mount Holyoke, Villanova (this is the one where she talks about "getting a life"), Colgate, and Barnard.
Enjoy and Happy Saturday.

Hi Ali:
First and foremost, I just want to say how much I enjoy your work and your website. I check it daily.
I've never commented before, but I just wanted to say how much I loved this quote, and the speeches. I am currently at home recovering from an ectopic pregnancy which required emergency surgery, and have been feeling extremely down. My situation and these speeches have helped me to put some thing into persepctive. I have been worried about how my work, and others are goint to react, but I realize that it really doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is my family. So thank you. Fate must have brought you to post this at a time that I really needed it.
Thanks Again
Tracey

Ali, thanks for including my alma mater in your list! I attended that commencement at Colgate in 2003, to see a close friend walk across the stage - at least, that's what I told people. Only my mom knew the truth, which was that I really wanted to see Anna Quindlen speak! Interestingly, I can't remember who gave our commencement speech back in 2001....

Hey, Ali...totally unrelated, but did you know that Jenny McCarthy's got a new book out about her son, Evan, who has autism? I heard about it through my weekly email from B&N. Thought you might be interested.

I think, when I have my own family, I'll remember to live this way. Until then, I feel it's an indulgence if I do this for myself.

Hi Ali (and others) has anyone seen this? http://www.myamericaathome.com/index.php I got it in an email from IKEA (thank goodness one of my favorite stores recently opened in Portland). I'm on their mailing list (IKEA) and think this sounds like an interesting look at our lives.

Hello:
I caught this quote awhile back on your site and it said so much to me. I sit here everyday consumed with "how to get more done in less time" surrounded by time management tools and all it resulted in (it seems like!) is a blur for the last 20 years. the quote made me sorrowful that I had missed so much along the way with two kids growing up (now 23 and 17) but also helped me see that I could start anew and slow down. i copied off the quote and made a scrapbook page with baby photos and put it smack dab in the middle of my current scrapbooks...to remind me. 'look how the time has flown by'.
