Keeping EVERY single photo ever taken. I need to learn how to let go.

Wow. Where to start. Taking good pictures. Organizing them. Finding them when I want them. Storing them. Scrapbooking them. Remembering the details around them. Oh, so many pictures, so little time. I actually went online and looked at Stacy's book today after you mentioned it yesterday and was disappointed I had to wait until Feb. 1st. Thanks for the chance at an advance copy!

My biggest photo issue is printing photos and then just not being inspired to scrap them right away...so they sit...get all out of order and the piles begin...photo storage is just such an issue lol!

My biggest photo problem is not leaving the camera, and organizing all of my photos.

one of many struggles is letting go of the 'extra' photos. it is so easy to just let them get bogged down in a file on the pc. but i really want to simplify this process, and not really sure how. i have been making myself delete, especially with doing the 365...i make myself now only keep 1 of the shots, and that's it...a good little habit, and maybe it will grow to encompass all my photo hoarding.
julie's book sounds very interesting. does it help to answer this kind of challenge?

My biggest photo struggle is knowing that over time, my favorites will change, so if I print what I love today, I may miss out on some true gems that I only appreciate when time has illuminated their meaning. For example, when my babies were tiny, I was so thrilled with every smile that I was disappointed with photos in which they weren't smiling. Now, the smiling photos don't thrill me -- it's the sleeping photos, and the candids, where they're studying something or someone they love closely, with a serious expression. What to do? It's certainly a disincentive, as far as "keeping up" goes.

    Hi Ali,
My biggest photo struggle is learning how to feel comfortable taking pictures of other people. I am very comfortable taking pictures of my immediate family and friends, but with others, I feel like I am "invading their privacy". I feel like I need a little more "photo confidence"

    Hey ali...
My struggle is how to back up my photos on my computer. I cant decide between external hard drive, CDs or on my Ipod. Would love to hear your backup plan.

I have thousands of photos on my computer that I don't want to delete, 'just in case' I may need them for a layout in the future. I can't seem to get myself to purge any!
    thanks for a great blog!!

sadly my biggest photo struggle is actually remembering to take photos - still working on bringing the camera around to places so that those 'perfect' (or really not so perfect) pictures can be taken

My biggest photo struggle: organization. I have 20 years of film/negatives and 8 years of digital photos, and I want to keep track of everything, archive it for my children so they can easily find photos of themselves as children when the albums I have done are not enough, and I want to be able to create new pages from old photos. Time is a problem, but organization is the biggest issue.

Thanks for the opportunity to win this book Ali (which has raced to the top of my wish list!)
Like many others, my main problems are: I'm not ruthless enough in deleting so-so digital images (and with 3 daughters, I take a heap), and I still have a whole load (as in many boxes!) of pre-digital photos to sort. It's overwhelming!
    love Jo xx
PS Ali, I have to thank you so much for talking about your mole checks - it prompted me to book my family in, and what a shock we had when my 14 year old daughter showed signs of sun damage and irregularities (I have been so careful with the slip, slop, slap all her life!) Our Doctor said it is her skin type, and she will have to have regular checks and be extremely vigilant with any sun exposure. Thank you again, Jo x

I was just checking out BPS's Library of Memories class a day or so ago. I would love to enroll in that one. I just don't have the time right now. That would be one of my biggest struggles, finding the time to get started organizing my photos...The second would be, where to begin. I tend to get overwhelmed everytime I think about it so they remain in boxes(old Photos) or on the computer. I have to go through them everytime I scrap. My struggles while taking photos would be understanding my camera's settings and finding the right light, or how to use what light I have effectively.

I struggle with good lighting (angles) and clear pictures. My kids move so fast & wiggle that a lot of them seem to come out with a slight blur. I guess my shutter speed isn't as fast as I'd like on my digital camera, so sometimes my kids get cut out of the picture from moving.

*I think my biggest photo struggle at the moment is finding the best way to 'back up' the exsisting digital photos on my hard drive.
*I worry more about loosing digital pictures then I use to of negatives, so finding a somewhat simple and fast way of backing them up is what I need!
    You ROCK as always Ali!

My biggest problem - I take way way too many photos, which not only fills up my computer but then takes me ages to sort through and pick which ones I want to scrap!!! If only I could take a few less photos.
