Big time excitement around here yesterday and today. Simon is six.
Yesterday we had a party with five other little kids and a bunch of adults and family. Kids were running and playing and eating and unwrapping. Simon loved it.
Here's the calm before the storm:
This year Simon went with a mixed theme. Elmo hats, Scoobie Doo banner + goodie bags, Dora cake plates, Shrek pizza plates, Cars cups, My Little Pony napkins, and a Happy Feet tablecloth. All favorites at one time or another over the past few years.
His newest passion right now is Star Wars. We got the original Star Wars movie at Christmas and since then we have watched it many times. Light sabers were requested as a birthday present. If he wouldn't have fallen asleep on the couch last night from sheer exhaustion I think he would have slept with those new light sabers. Those were definitely a hit.
No school today in celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. so we are hanging out, playing with toys, and working in between.

Happy birthday! Check out the clone words cartoon DVDs. Some are a leeetle scary, but they encourage imaginative play, especially if your guy has some of the Galactic Heroes. Check out Target.

i am not sure of your views on video games...however there is a game known as lego star wars...my nephew adores it!! (very kid friendly) ..however he gets a time limit or i think he would waste away!
