The words.

Went through all the comments from the last few days tonight and collected all the words. Reading your words + your reasons were uplifting + inspiring. Thank you for sharing. If I missed your word leave a note in the comments section and I will add it to this list.

And there is always time to choose a word if you have not done so yet.

My 2008 word? Initiative! Change doesn't happen unless you take charge and make it so.

I love that (thanks for listing them)...I think my word will be connect. Haven't had a ton of time to think, pray over it but it has very high potential.

I just adore seeing this list all in one spot alphabetized!! What a great catalyst for art journals, take one word a day or week and make a page around it. LOVE IT! Thanks Ali
    You continue to inspire me!

    Ali,
This is my first time commenting on your blog, though I've been reading it for several months now. Simon reminds me a lot of my older son Zachary, and I love to hear how he's doing. My word (after MUCH THOUGHT and almost stealing the word GO from someone) is FOLLOW. Kind of odd, I know. I want to be intentional this year about making decisions that follow God's desires for my life. Whether it's saying no to the umpteenth piece of chocolate for the day or getting up of the couch to play with the kids or developing deeper relationships or even saying no more often, I hope to carve out those few moments to consider how things fit into His plans. So, for me it's FOLLOW. Thanks for inspiring me to think about this.

My word is "triumph" - this will be a year of great things after a year of change and time spent getting back on my feet, emotionally and financially :-) Thanks for being the inspiration you are, Ali!

My word is visualize (and attack-make those dreams happen)! I can't believe it isn't a duplicate. That is a long list.

Okay, Ali, I picked my word today and found out it isn't on your list yet. My word is SUCCEED. I have so many irons in the fire and so many things I want to improve. I feel stressed. I intend to look at my goals and use them as a measurement of what I should be doing -- will this project or activity help me succeed in this goal? If not, it's off my list.

I didn't make a comment yet, but my word is "consistency." Every time I've succeeded in something I aimed for it was because of consistency. And I found this quote on a poster when I googled it: Knowing harmony is consistency. Knowing consistency is enlightenment. –Tao Te Ching

Poor little "X" and "Z". They're the only letters not represented on the amazing list. Kindof makes me want to choose "zoom" or "zany" or maybe "x-ray" or "xerox" as my word, but I'm happy with "flow" and will stick with that!

my word for 2008 is 'good'- so many meanings and uses, but for me this year, it's about being a better me and seeing/finding/ being mindful of the good that's all around us.

    Hi Ali.
Thanks for the inspiration as always.
I actually have two words for this year:
NO RULES! I tend to get frozen because I put so many rules on things and scrapbooking in particular, so this year, I want to break free! Thank you. Looking forward to reading your last book which I just ordered.

What a lovely list of words! Each one amazing and intensely personal to someone. Mine is "serenity," pure and simple and life-giving, though I wouldn't mind sharing all the others...

Well, this year I'm going to be a bit different and have a One Little WordQuad: 4 little words in a phrase that is a resolution:
    Dare to Bare...
    Share to Care...
I'm a sucker for the aliterative, so I'm rhyming this year, and all of these pretty much say the same thing, anyway. Noticed that Dare is the only one on your list, BTW.

    Brave, Believe, and Trust
This year will probably be the hardest year of my life. I know that I will have to be BRAVE with the decisions that I make and TRUST and BELIEVE in them as well. I also need to BELIEVE and TRUST that everything will work out the way it is suppose to.

This is the first I've heard about this but I like the idea. I was looking through the list of words and realized you didn't have any starting with the letter Z so I have decided on "Zeal" as my word for this year. The Dictionary says this about the word: zeal (zēl) Pronunciation Key
    n. Enthusiastic devotion to a cause, ideal, or goal and tireless diligence in its furtherance. - I want to be more diligant with my devotions, my home life, my friendships and my stamping. What a great idea this is as it's a challenge to really put for the effort to make your WORD a part of your daily life. Thanks!
