Having the pictures accessible years down the road. As you say it-- having the story told, see the changes in people , and things.
Is being able to see my little neice and wishing my mom kept better pictures and even took them when my sister was little to see my sister in her daughter. I want that for when my kids have kids.

since it seems that my memory if failing a little bit more each and every day, memory keeping has been such a great way to remember small moments that otherwise would have been forgotten.

my fav part of documenting memories is that I can be as creative as I want, and no one is going to judge how perfect or not perfect it is. It is totally for me, and when I have kids it will be for them too, but they will think its cool because mom did it ;)

My favorite thing right now is participating in Shimelle's Scrap Your Day as well as the My Freedom class. I am taking lots of pictures and even learning some things about myself and how I am remembering things that I have seen and done. I adore the MM Passport line and am looking forward to a trip to Chicago and then scrapping those new memories!

My favorite thing about memory keeping is making the memories of course. Probably the second thing is going back and re-living them. My kids love looking back and remembering all of it.

Lately I have been making connections between photos from childhood and the memories I have from that time -- my blankie, my nickname, first car etc. this is huge for me because I tend to focus on pages about my family. It has been a lot of fun AND inspiring.

Hi Ali!
I have to say that my favorite thing about memory keeping is capturing all my moments. I just recently went thru my mother's photos for my Evolution class, and we discovered LOTS of great photos of people/events we didn't know who/what they were...I don't want that to happen with my memories...
Thanks for letting me share!

Hi Ally. I have been loving your blog lately. I have been going through the photos left to me by my grandmother recently. There is this photo of a women in what looks to be in a flapper dress and was probably taken in the 20s. She kind of looks like my grandma, but no one knows who she is. I would have loved to know about her. What did she like to do? what mattered to her? It reinforces my love of scrapbooking and how important it is to tell our stories.
Thanks for the opportunity.

I have always loved stuff from "older times". We've filled our home with things that once belonged to others and I've often wondered at the stories they could tell. So my favorite thing is keeping those stories alive. Also As I age I'm beginning to forget different things, so those everyday things are fun to record to help me remember.

My favorite part of memory keeping right now, is capturing the lives of 4 little boys. I now have four nephews, the most recent addition being Emerson, born on July 20th. Their ages are 8 days (Emerson), 20 months (Chase), 19 months (Ethan), and 4 years old (Colin).
Is is so great to follow them around and experience the world through their eyes! My scrapbooks are filling up with their memorable moments and new life experiences.
I'm starting to increase the amount of journaling that I do because of them. I don't want to forget anything.
It is a great experience for ME to be a part of their first discoveries and memories.

my favorite part right now is pretty plain & simple - i just love that i am able to save the simple everyday things that my kids do, since the grow so fast and time flies by before you know it...

Memory keeping to me is the joy I get when my kids pull out the albums and spend hours going through them. I have even caught my husband looking at his marathon/running album I made for him and him asking me when I am going to update it. He is trained now that when he completes a run, he puts all the memoribilia (race tag, certificates, etc) on my scrapbook table for me to use.
I love it when my kids pull their school albums out and show them to their friends. This is especially neat when my sophomore in high school does this and all her friends gather around and look for themselves in her photos. Thanks for your blog.

My favorite thing is looking back through all the fun memories and stories . My daughter is now thirteen and so much of her life has started to not include me.

My favorite thing about memory keeping is leaving a record for future generations. I love the idea that we can record the everyday, not just the special occasions.

My favorite thing about memeory keeping is the journaling. I want who ever reads it to learn something about me & my family. Some times that can be a lot of words, other times all it takes are some great photos & a few words. I think it's important to show what our everyday life is like as well as our favorite vacation spots & celebrations.I feel that it's through the everyday stuff that you really get to know somebody.

looking back on my son's baby album or other layouts of him as a wee thing.... just love that I took the time to lovingly share the story through words and pictures with a touch of design.

For christmas I'm making all my own presents and the majority of them are mini albums. What I love about memory keeping is being able to tell old stories (in some cases very old, printing out and compiling information on old B&W pictures from our family) and new stories, a recent wedding, a new baby, etc.
