Things have been hard here for a while-my husband was out of work for more that 6 months (I stay at home with the kids, so we had no income during this time) and our youngest has developmental delays, so we've been working with EI for that. Just a lot of stress this year. Creating has been a lifeline for me-both just taking the time to create, and by giving me a chance to slow down and remember the good. It also gives me an outlet on those days when things are hard.

Dear Ali,
Right now, my favorite thing about memory keeping is the creative outlet. Lots of other things in my life are very stressful, and I know I can come to this, and just forget everything else while I create.
Thanks for everything y0u do!

My favorite thing about memory keeping is my children's reactions each morning when they see I've hung a new LO up on my board. They love to look through their albums too. love that! :)

Hi, Ali,
Memory keeping means choice for me, and I love that I can choose the appropriate media for my memories. Some moments aren't well captured in photos, so those get recorded in writing, and other moments--like the wrinkled-nose giggle--aren't as perfect in words as they are in images. So I love that memory keeping means making choices. . . not just about a color of ribbon but about the very media I'm recording the memories in.

It's the obvious thing really, just capturing memories of my 2 sons childhood. I don't have a great memory of my own childhood, just little bits that flash back to me when one of my boys does something similar. By scrapbooking I know that we can all look back and remember today... Katherine x

My favorite part is being able to look back at my pages and remember. I also love when people, mostly my kids, look at the pages and enjoy them.

My favorite thing right now is the looks on my kids' faces after I complete a page for his/her album. When I first started scrapping, it was more about the beauty that I could create. Now, it's truly about making books containing their memories that they are excited to look at.

I am recording thoughts and feelings along with my photos for my only son in small hand made books. I do not have much from my parents so this is hugh for me. I thank you Ali for your inspiration and guidance.

My favorite thing about memory keeping is flipping through all the pages I have created. I like reminiscing on what activities/memories/things I scrapbooked about.

My favorite thing about memory keeping is seeing how much we've changed. When I look at old pictures of me and my husband we get a good laugh at how we look like babies. LOL! As for my kids, I love to write down every little funny thing they say and attach their age to it. My oldest daughter can read now and when she looks back at some of the things she used to say she cracks up and says "I said THAT?!" Good times...good times!

Memory keeping to me right now is about being in the moment. It helps me to focus on the little things I may have missed if I wasn't a scrapbooker. I haven't actually scrapped a page in a few months, but am constantly taking pictures and writing journaling. I know when I get inspired to play with supplies again my memories will be right here for me.
(Thanks for introducing us, well at least me, to StudioCalico...some very inspiring stuff over there! :) ).
