My favorite thing about memory keeping right now is two fold -- one is being able to see already, how much my little guy has changed, grown and delighted us. It's also an important outlet for me creatively -- I love getting ideas, seeing what other people do -- I love the idea of all the stories out there getting captured. I am so glad I'm doing this now.

I have given myself "permission" to scrap whatever photos inspire me at the time. No more stress over chronological scrapping or being caught up! Much more enjoyable and productive!

Hi Ali,
My favorite part of memory keeping right now is the process of being creative with my things. Maybe because I have been doing so much digital work (for school, home, and scrapbooking), but lately I have really been enjoying the tactile experience that comes with playing with tanglible objects.
Thanks!
Jennifer

My great grandmother left behind beautiful needlepoint handkerchiefs, my grandmother will leave the many quilts she made for us, my mother will leave her amazing recipes...I will leave my words and my photos. Feels nice to join in the legecy of my family...to have a gift of myself to leave behind.

At the moment, I'm going through everything, cleaning up, and pausing to rediscover. I think that this is what is my favorite thing right now: Rediscovering old stories, photos, ephemera that I'd forgotten. I just rediscovered some old letters I'd written to my grandparents when I was about seven -- too funny!

Hi! I love that my kids, ages 11 and 13, are so into looking at our scrapbooks. I really enjoy sitting back and listening to them say "oh yeah, remember when we did this?" That is the coolest thing ever!!

right now my fave thing about memory keeping is 2 things. the 1st is that I've given myself permission to scrap what I want, when I want. No more stress of chronological and order. And thanks to the American Crafts Modern Albums, I can do what ever size I feel like, no more being stuck to one size layout.
But the best part for me is watch my boys as they look at the albums and mini books. They get such a thrill out of seeing them selves and people they love.

My favorite thing about memory keeping is knowing that by doing this I WILL remember. And my children and grandchildren will be able to "remember" as well - long after I'm gone. Preserving these memories brings such joy to me now and hopefully will bring joy to future generations.

I love making those connections. I saw a picture today of my son doing a little happy dance at the beach. I have a picture of him at 18 months doing the same thing at the beach. I guess the beach is his happy place :)

Right now, my favorite thing about memory keeping is the ease of digital photography. I can take a photo and be scrapping it 30 minutes later. Back when my children were small, we had to wait a week for photos and we weren't guaranteed they would be any good. I love my Canon.

It's global. Until recently, I barely knew my extended family. With digital photography, blogs, and home videos I can share on the web, I now have a connection with my family-all of them.
Memory keeping- I'm not keeping them anymore- I am sharing my memories, so they may be passed down to the next generation of family.
In a few hours, I recently created a DVD of three movies, a slideshow, and JPGs of the slideshow pics from a family reunion. In the past, this would have remained with me only.
With the ease of burning a DVD, my entire family, including distant cousins, now have a copy of this treasure. I even added notes, making sure everyoone was named in the video.
Yep, Memory Sharing, not Memory Keeping.

Hi Ali,
the one thing that stands out in my mind is that I can capture a moment in time (MANY of which aren't all that happy right now) and reflect on those memories for years to come.

Hey Ali: just a quick note to let you know that currently my favorite thing about memory keeping is simply being AWARE of the daily stuff. I have 14yr. old twin girls and a 7yr. old boy. They are constantly changing, growing, and evolving into themselves, and I'm enjoying every step. Things change from day to day around here especially with my 2 teenagers and I'm constantly jotting down my observations, things they say and do, conversations we have, etc. in order to remember & preserve these precious childhood memories. Thank you and I love all your work!
