how cool, ali! i have a new baby in the house right now, so i am thinking more than doing when it comes to creating projects and memory items. but i am percolating and dreaming constantly about scrapbooking again, creating other memory crafts, like quilts made out of my children's baby clothes, and some other new ideas. my three older kids start back to school in less than 2 weeks, so i am excited about the time i will have to get started.
have a great one!!

My favorite part of memory keeping is documenting the little everyday events. I would love to have had a glimpse into the daily life of my grandparents and great-grandparents and I don't want those little everyday moments of my life to get lost for future generations.

Wow - that kit is awesome and would be perfect for some international travel we did last year! I think my favorite thing about memory keeping is being able to look back at pages and feel the emotion of the day/event all over again - I love that! I feel like I can re-live so many moments & remember the experiences that have influenced me - it's like replaying parts of my life one page at a time.

As always it's recording the little things that will otherwise be forgotten. My 5 year old in in Kindy and her birthday is on the weekend. She has been asking for something called "super tax" for her birthday and it is the only thing she wants. None of us could figure out what it was so I asked my 10 year old to see if she could find out. She did. It is a computer game they play at school that can be downloaded for free. I was away last night but she called me after her sister had gone to bed to say she'd found it (Super Tux not tax) and was downloading it as her present to her sister. She was so happy and proud and her little sister will be over the moon. The kind of page I like to look at on those days when sisters aren't as perfectly behaved.

My favourite thing is journalling...telling the stories and anecdotes of my 2 year old son. My father-in-law is a local historian and photographer, so I am making sure that for my son, I am continuing the family tradition for him to enjoy in years to come. And there is no better way of doing this than in an artful way with beautiful products.

I am keeping a FUN, simple summer scrapbook modeled it after your Christmas album this past year. I took about 5-6x6 pieces of cardstock and 2-6x6 pieces of chipboard and painted them in random fun colors and designs with thick paint. I punched two holes on the left side and attached it with circle-rings. I am putting in fun memorabilia, mail and pictures in random spots from this summer. I plan to write a little on the cardstock and call it done.

Right now, I'm rediscovering my journal. Not the journaling that goes in my scrapbooks, but the personal journaling that only I read and no one else will read until I'm gone! LOL!

My favorite thing about memory keeping now (and always has been) recording the ordinary, every day things in my family's and my life. The words and the photos....even the "bad" photos are keepers to me....of the everyday. That is my favorite thing about memory keeping!

Hi Ali. I love your blog. You are so down to earth with your information and you never fail to inspire me. I never wrote to tell you that my word for the year is "organization." I have it posted on the fridge. I am working with a professional organizaer to get my art room under control so I can just relax and start creating without stressing over where everything is. I credit you with the push to get this done.

Thank you for the opportunity to win a cool prize!
I love having the opportunity to really think about the people in my life and what is really important to our family as we record our family history. I enjoy catching snapshots of people and experiences and viewing the changes throughout the years. I also enjoy creating... With Memory Keeping/Scrapbooking, I am able to create something from start to finish in a relatively short time. It's a great sense of accomplishment!
Inky Smiles!

Right now, my favorite thing about memory keeping is taking photos of my son doing the everyday-fun-what one can only do when one is six yrs old photos (riding his bicycle while wearing his Spiderman costume; acting as his favorite wrestler while wearing only boxers{like the real wrestlers do, Mom!}), and taking photos of him and I, whether it be in a photobooth at Safari Sam's or with the digital camera wherever we may be.

It is difficult to say what my favorite thing about memory keeping is right now. I suppose that memory keeping not only helps me remember the moments that are long gone, but sometimes I feel looking at a scrapbook page it brings me back to that moment in time. I love that journey back through time. I hope this makes sense.

WOW that is a LOT of comments!! LOL. . .my fave thing about memory keeping right now is trying to see things from different perspectives. . .looking back at LOs I made 6 years ago...thinking about what my sons' wives will think someday of the things I wrote about them. . .or their children (my someday grandchildren). . .it's daunting - but thinking about the legacy of it all is SO COOL!

My favourite bit is the memories invoked when I look at the photos I am scrapping. So many fun times.

Man, that's a lot of comments!
My fave thing about memory keeping right now is nowing that a piece of right now is carried into the future. Not just left behind and forgotten, but cherished and always remembered. No matter how mundane and day to day, it is documented proof of the right here and right now.

My favorite thing right now is looking back at the photos I took before I was a scrapper and getting those memories recorded, and documenting the little everyday events is so wonderful.

I unfortunately suffer from a Severe Chronic Depression and also have a Borderline Personality Disorder where I take daily medications and see a Psychiatrist and a Spiritual Counselor on a steady basis. I also unfortunately have daily thoughts of Suicide! Anyone that has ever suffered from Depression can relate to what I am saying, but if you haven't- don't be too quick to judge, like my Mother-in-law, she is just ignorant and needs to study up on depression, because it is real and I have been a sufferer for 26 years! I am not asking for sympathy, because even though I have this type of Depression I am still succesful in my life in many areas. I am a Family Nurse Practitioner, a Christian, A Mother, A Wife, A Friend, A Daughter etc....but it still frustrates me to no end that I suffer sooo much, because I am a mother to a beautiful, precious 6 year old daughter and have a wonderful, compassionate, and understanding husband! The reason for this opening statement was to set the tone for my reasoning for memory keeping. I journal and scrapbook so my daughter will always have memories to cherish about herself, her mother and family in general! I also scrapbook for relaxing the mind and the creative art that it produces. But, currently I try to live in the present and pray that I will not overdose on any medications today. I try to think positive and find an event or reason to scrapbook for my daughter, so she will always have good or even sad MEMORIES to always have to look back upon! I would love to win a Studio Calico kit to further enhance my scrapbooking stash to keep cherishing the memories! Thank you for the opportunity to win! You are very thoughtful! God Bless! Carrie
