I've been scrapbooking now for maybe 3 years. I've always kept memory books of things I felt were important in my life. When I was young and engaged to my childrens father I kept every letter he ever wrote me while he was in Boot Camp at Parris Island. While our marriage didn't last those letters did. In one of my memory books. He has since passed away. Though one day my children will be able to see a side of their father they never knew. That's what is so great about memory keeping.

even though it can be great to look through a photo album with just pictures, I love that scrapbooking enables me to tell the story behind the picture or write the funny things my daughter says and does that a picture just cannot convey. i don't seem to have enough time to scrapbook as much as i would like to, but i still love it and i cherish just about every page i've made in the past 3 years! minus one or two of those "what was i thinking?" pages!

Hi Ali! My favorite thing about memory keeping right now is recording the hilarious things my boys say or do, and then re-reading them later on with my husband and laughing like crazy, realizing that if we hadn't written it down, we never would have remembered what they had said!

I want to convey the thoughts and feelings of events for the future so we don't forget. Time passes fast and it's so easy to forget all the little things that make events remarkable!

My favorite thing about memory keeping is that I will get to share these memories for years and years because I took pictures and journaled about life as it once was.

My favorite thing about memory keeping right now isa tie between making sure I get it all down, and being creative. I love to be creative and have fun while trying to keep the memories alive.
Awesome giveaway - the kits looks really cool!

my favorite thing right now about memory keeping is digging out OLD pics of my kids when they were growing up and revisiting all our family activities....I am having a great time doing layouts with these....and I have oodles!

Hmmm, right now my favorite thing about it is thinking about how it has changed over the past 100 years. The way we keep memories has changed, but the reason we do it has not.

For me, memory keeping is about appreciating each and every day...the little moments. My family has had a trying year, but instead of getting caught up in the struggles, the disappointments, and the stresses, I take a photo (or several) each day and paste it, a story, and something pretty to capture time and not let those other things steal the joy of all my blessings! Making the book with my Zutter and using what I have to create something tangible of this journey reminds me to be grateful and open to the possibilities.

My favorite thing about memory keeping is being able to preserve my life & family memories...capturing the simple things... while at the same time being able to express my creativity & inner-artist in me. That's what is ALL about!

My favourite thing is to be able to sit down with my 3 1/2 year old son and tell him about when he was a baby, in pictures. He loves it and we even do a bit together, you can see the excitement in his eyes when he gets to "play" with mamma's toys :-)
Thank you for a lovely blog, very inspirational!

My favorite part of memory keeping is the whole creative process of putting it all together: picking just the right photo from the dozens I took of that day or event, then adding my story in my own words and then choosing the papers and embelllishments. Right now I seem to be more thoughtful and journal more when doing digital layouts. Having the keyboard in front of me (as well as the backspace LOL) brings out the writer in me. But my paper ones are all about the design process - the artist in me wants to break through.

Hi Ali,
I'm new to the memory keeping world so at present I'm organizing all of my family photos and mementos to prepare them for scrap booking. I'm enjoying collecting all of the fun scrap booking papers and embellishments but, I have to say that my favorite thing about memory keeping right now is: the memories of my childhood that this process has called to mind and reliving these memories with my parents and my sisters. Thanks for everything that you share with your readers; I always enjoy reading your blog.

My favorite thing about memory keeping right now is that I will never forget the special times we have had with my Grandmother.
She has lung cancer and is loosing her battle with it. Thankfully I have taken lots of pictures of those special times and my children will always know that their Great Grandma loved them all very much.
My Grandma has always been a good "memory keeper" of our family history. She also has tons of pictures from her childhood & my mom's childhood. It is neat to get to know how she was as a child. I will miss hearing all her wonderful stories but I thankful for being able to hear all that I have. They are priceless!

That's a hard question...actually I want to record my story...because I really, really regret not knowing a whole lot about my Grandma who was one of the most important persons of my childhood. As a kid you don't ask a lot about history..meaning 2nd world war and all those things (I'm from Europe).. And suddenly it's too late to ask. I inherited some photo albums of my Grandma, but there aren't many explanations of who the people are and what they meant to her, so that's a thing really want to inherit. My children and grandchildren should know about how my life used to be when I was young, what was important and what kind of person I was...

Wow! So many comments. I love remembering the tiny irrelevant moments that I tend to forget over time that I choose to record. I look back over them and it seems to transform me into that moment again. For those moments when my kids don't remember, it gives me that spark to explain them what life was like at that very moment. They cherish that too!

My favorite thing right now is flowing from the events of each day, being mindful of what is happening. I just got married two weeks ago and there have been many days where the pressure has been on- take a picture- this will only happen once. But my favorite memories aren't from the photos- they are from my mind. It's richer to live the moment, than to wait for an artifact to retrieve it later. So my writing has been deeper, but even that is a bit of an artifact.
