Hello Baby Edwards...
Our lives are changing in a very big, very wonderful way early next year.
We've known for just about six weeks now and have been doing a ton of celebrating with family (I am just over 12 weeks along).
The idea of a new little person in our lives is sinking in day by day. I am experiencing a crazy mixture of excitement, all-day nausea, grumpiness + mood swings, too-small clothes (which leads to more grumpiness), and that pure amazing this is really happening joy.
I am so hoping that I am coming out of the early pregnancy/first trimester fog (at least I really, really hope so) and am focusing on living fully and in the moment and not taking a minute of this for granted (easier said than done some of these days when all I want to do is sleep all day). As you might imagine I have a big list of things I want to do before this new person joins us and I have been crossing them off the list very slowly one by one.
Simon is pretty darn excited. He came with me to my doctor's appointment yesterday and really liked hearing the heartbeat (even though he was disappointed that he didn't get to see more pictures).
We are all pretty darn excited.
Life is a tremendously amazing thing indeed.

Congratulations - that is truly wonderful news.Nothing like the thought of a new baby to bring a smile to everyone's face. This little person will be a very lucky soul to have such a terrific mother, brother and father. Enjoy the journey - motherhood is the thing that makes sense of life.

CONGRATS to you and your family!!!!!!! That is such awesome news! I have been following your blog since the very beginning (it's one of the things I look forward to every day!) and have had the pleasure of meeting you (and Simon) several times. I wish you all the joy and happiness in the world as you embark on this next adventure. Simon will make a wonderful big brother and I can't wait to see all the creativity that will surely be coming in the next few months!

Congratulations! I'm sure you'll be getting some more energy here as you start the second trimester... usually it's beter (though everyone is different!)than the first and the last! Please take pictures of yourself at least to keep us all up to date! =)
