Clear Scraps Giveaway
Tags:Today's giveaway is sponsored by Clear Scraps. They recently generously donated some product for an upcoming benefit class/make + take I am doing in Southern Oregon. These are my four favorite products in their clear mini-book line-up:
6x6 Tab Album (5 pages, 3 ring)
All Mixed-Up (6 pages, 3 ring)
Scalloped Square Album (5 pages, 3 ring)
8x8 Tab Album (5 pages, 3 ring)
Here's a recent minibook I did that was featured in my Studio A column in the August issue of Creating Keepsakes magazine using the Scalloped Square Album:
Notice the square punch + corner rounder again?
For this album I used paint as an adhesive. I ran the outer edges of the squares through some paint and laid them down onto the acrylic. It definitely smears as you push it down, but that was part of the fun. I used much more paint on the transparent pieces and less on the photos (the photos are backed with other photos allowing me to adhere them to the acrylic album).
[ supplies : album: Clear Scraps; transparencies: Hambly Studios; paint and tiny alpha letter stickers: Making Memories, "the easter egg is pretty:" vintage ]
I have two sets of these four albums to giveaway. To be entered into the drawing leave a comment below and let me know what layout/project have you been putting off and why. Comments will be closed today (Thursday) at 5pm Pacific and the winners announced shortly after.

Hi, Ali,
I keep putting off scrapblooking my last two trips to the Philippines. My family and I are camera happy and, thus, have a habit of taking tons, and I mean tons, of pictures. Frankly, I get overwhelmed just looking at them. Ironically, I have enough supplies to do these trips and probably the next two. Go figure...

I've been putting off completing my 16 yr old daughter's baby album because there are so many good pics of the first kid, and not all of them are dated. (oops)

I've never played with an acrylic album yet. I love what you did with yours.
I've been working on my wedding album and have all but 1 page finished. The last page has been the hardest- I just don't know what to do with it!

I am having the hardest time EMOTIONALLY putting together an album for my three children, about their late father.
He went off to work in Africa a few years ago, after the breakdown of our marraige. He cut all ties with the children and I.
He contracted Malaria and died about twelve days after being bitten by a mosquito carrying a lethal strain of encephaletic malaria.
The most gut wrenching thing for me was my eldest daughter's reaction to the news.
She was quiet for a long time. Tears welled in her eyes and she said to me
~~'Mum, I always thought he would be at my wedding!'~~
She was 11 when he passed away last year.
I just don't know how to go about creating an album that fills just a small portion of the void left in their hearts by his death.

In March my 2 boys and I went "home" to New Zealand for my parents 40th wedding anniversary. I have been procrastinating doing an album of all the photos from the party because there are so many important ones of people I love whom I only see every few years, looking at them makes me get a bit emotional and I find it hard to slim down the pile to tell the party story.

my parents took us (kids, grandkids) on a disney cruise 4 years ago to celebrate their 50th anniversary. i had just started scrapbooking that year and started an album all about our vacation. well i kept starting new projects as new things came out and now i feel that the style i used back then is so outdated but i'm about 90% done. i debated whether to start over or just complete it with new things i've learned. in the meantime, it's just sitting there. i think i'll just complete it because it could end up sitting there for another 4 years!!

I've been wanting to do a mini album of my daughter's birth. I want to include photos of us first holding her. I want to document how we felt, why we chose her name, what makes her so special to us. She's almost six so I need to start this soon, before I forget any more details. Thanks for the giveaway!

Love these clear albums! The biggest "project" I've been putting off is actually printing my pages. Other than the few mini-albums I've done, most of my pages are still on my hard drive. Last year, my son got ahold of his album at nap time and ruined the entire thing...so I think part of me is afraid to print again (it's in those times that I am SO thankful I do digital art). You are a true inspiration to me as someone who actually fills their home with their art...I so want to do that!

I have been putting off my wedding album. Everything else seems to have priority and I've left that behind... it's been over 7 years now.

Hi Ali,
The albums (plural) I have been putting off are the ones for my kids. Just want them to have something to take with them someday. The good thing is I have been very good (almost too good) about saving ephemera to help with the process.
Blessings,
Alicia Johnson

i have been putting off ALL yes ALL non-wedding related projects until I am done our wedding album. I've been working on it since I started scrapbooking 3 years ago now. the only exception is when I am working on a quick album to be given as a gift. I am SO READY to move onto something else and pictures that are something other than 4x6.

I so enjoy your blog for inspiration. I have been putting off doing pictures of our trip to Yellowstone. It is hard for me to capture all the beautiful landscape on a scrapbook page!

Good Morning Ali. I have been putting off doing my summer recap album. I just started it and now it is sitting on my table 1/4 of the way finished. Time just seems to slip away from me. It certainly isn't for lack of want that it does not get done. I'm going to try and work a little on it today!
Have a good one!
Dawn
