Clear Scraps Giveaway
Tags:Today's giveaway is sponsored by Clear Scraps. They recently generously donated some product for an upcoming benefit class/make + take I am doing in Southern Oregon. These are my four favorite products in their clear mini-book line-up:
6x6 Tab Album (5 pages, 3 ring)
All Mixed-Up (6 pages, 3 ring)
Scalloped Square Album (5 pages, 3 ring)
8x8 Tab Album (5 pages, 3 ring)
Here's a recent minibook I did that was featured in my Studio A column in the August issue of Creating Keepsakes magazine using the Scalloped Square Album:
Notice the square punch + corner rounder again?
For this album I used paint as an adhesive. I ran the outer edges of the squares through some paint and laid them down onto the acrylic. It definitely smears as you push it down, but that was part of the fun. I used much more paint on the transparent pieces and less on the photos (the photos are backed with other photos allowing me to adhere them to the acrylic album).
[ supplies : album: Clear Scraps; transparencies: Hambly Studios; paint and tiny alpha letter stickers: Making Memories, "the easter egg is pretty:" vintage ]
I have two sets of these four albums to giveaway. To be entered into the drawing leave a comment below and let me know what layout/project have you been putting off and why. Comments will be closed today (Thursday) at 5pm Pacific and the winners announced shortly after.

I honestly tend to put off anything that is going to be a gift for someone. I always end up falling in love with what I have done and wanting to keep it. So gifts often tend to not get done so I don't have to feel guilty. :-P

these clear albums look really great and fun to work with!
the project i've been putting off is the mini-album of my trip to argentina last year. i have most of the supplies all set and ready to go, but i feel like i need to have a huge block of time set aside to really do the album -- and my memories -- justice. ironically enough, the longer i wait, the hazier my memory gets.

I've been putting off any fall pictures. I take a ton of pictures and collect all sorts of wonderful paper and goodies for fall. In the end there are so many pictures that I can't figure out how to incorporate them all!

Would like to attempt to work with the clear albums. i've been wanting to do a "me" album or an "every day" album. I procrastinate because I haven't yet got to the 'just do it' point and not obsess over every little detail. Maybe by winning an album I'll feel a greater desire to use it! thanks Ali!

Putting off a layout of my daughter and the things I love about her. I have no energy to do it yet...she's four months.

A box with 4X4 layouts of all my jewelry is on the back burner for now. Hopefully, I'll get to it soon.

After my first acrylic album, I said this will be my last. After my second album, I said, this is kind of fun. After my third album, I said I definitely like this and am looking for more. I have one on order with my granddaughters name specifically spelled out and would love to have another just for the fun of it. Love your idea of using paint as an adhesive for this type of album.

i could go on and on with a list a mile long about all the projects i am putting off!!! i think i get too many grand ideas and then i get overwhelmed!!! i have a Creative Cafe mini book that i was going to do 2007 in review album, have all of what i need sitting here! just never want to start it because i dont' want to goof it up! dumb excuse! but i do that with lots of things, i eventually get to them! i have also about 10-15 different ideas in mind for mini book projects(a grandparents one, a sisters one, a mama & me one, one of just friends, one of all different cousins, one of our dog with the girls, a 1st grade one, a 2nd grade one, etc. the list goes on)....

I've been putting off a travel album of a trip to Europe. So many photos & I'm having trouble narrowing to a few. I think a mini album instead of the huge one I bought would get me motivated, get the most important stories told & showcase my favorite photos.

I could say my wedding one as we just celebrated our 10th anniversary and I'm still barely started, but as some of the journalling is being done by DH it's not really 'put off' so much as 'awaiting input'.
I *will* say my nephews album. It's been put off because he died at the age of three a few months ago and it still hurts to think about.

I have been putting off layouts from this last Christmas. Don't know why, maybe the shear number of pictures... overwhelming... I just need to get in there and do it. Love the idea with the paint on the acrylic album! Thanks for another wonderful tip!

I have been putting off the last years holiday photos. I think I will make a mini album out of them, but haven't gotten that far on the thought process.

I've been putting off my wedding albums for 3 years...probably b/c I feel pressure (my own doing) to make it look "perfect"....Also, I've been putting off the Hawaii album of a family vacation taken in 2006. *sigh* Someday!

I have been putting off doing an album for my mom of my sister and I. I keep thinking I'm going to do it for Mother's Day or her birthday, but everytime I start I find myself, very suprisingly, wihtout the words to express my love and appreciation for her.

I've been putting off my boys' baby albums. I think it is because I didn't start scrapbooking until after they were in grade school, and I'm too busy trying to keep up with the current stuff. Maybe I can squeeze it in when they are grown up but before they start having children of their own!?!

I've been putting off doing my honeymoon album. I think I'm afraid of it not being "perfect."

I've been putting off doing an acrylic album. I started one and thought I had a great idea. I had to put it aside and now I haven't gone back to it! I'm a little nervous and pretty sure I'm going to mess it up! LOL! And here I am trying to win some more acrylic albums! I'm a sucker for punishment!

The project I've been putting off is my son's first year album, he's now three and a half. I lost my father to cancer when my son was only 6 months old so it still makes me sad to see the pictures of them together. Happy that I have them to remember, but sad that he won't enjoy my kids growing up. I can hear his laughter and joy through those pictures though.
