Clear Scraps Giveaway
Tags:Today's giveaway is sponsored by Clear Scraps. They recently generously donated some product for an upcoming benefit class/make + take I am doing in Southern Oregon. These are my four favorite products in their clear mini-book line-up:
6x6 Tab Album (5 pages, 3 ring)
All Mixed-Up (6 pages, 3 ring)
Scalloped Square Album (5 pages, 3 ring)
8x8 Tab Album (5 pages, 3 ring)
Here's a recent minibook I did that was featured in my Studio A column in the August issue of Creating Keepsakes magazine using the Scalloped Square Album:
Notice the square punch + corner rounder again?
For this album I used paint as an adhesive. I ran the outer edges of the squares through some paint and laid them down onto the acrylic. It definitely smears as you push it down, but that was part of the fun. I used much more paint on the transparent pieces and less on the photos (the photos are backed with other photos allowing me to adhere them to the acrylic album).
[ supplies : album: Clear Scraps; transparencies: Hambly Studios; paint and tiny alpha letter stickers: Making Memories, "the easter egg is pretty:" vintage ]
I have two sets of these four albums to giveaway. To be entered into the drawing leave a comment below and let me know what layout/project have you been putting off and why. Comments will be closed today (Thursday) at 5pm Pacific and the winners announced shortly after.

I have been putting off a little scrapbook for my son who I lost at six months during my first pregnancy. I don't have a lot of stuff to put in it, but the stuff I do have (belly pictures, ultrasounds, etc.) I feel needs to be shared and put into an album. I feel that I owe it to him to make him a album, as our future children will all have albums. It just is overwelming and emotional, but the memories that I have of him I never want to forget.

I have been putting of doing a tribute scrapbook to my wonderful Mom who died of ovarian cancer almost 6 years ago. Every time I begin, it seems like the whole battle she fought just comes rushing back, and I find myself depressed for a couple of days. I put everything away, and think maybe another day. I collect things for the album, even write things for it, but seem to avoid the actual putting it together. Someday there will be a beautiful tribute album to her, but today is not that day.

I have been putting off scraping my grandmother's photos from the 1930s and 1940s because I'm not sure how to best display them. I want a mixed media collage look but I don't want it dark and heavy. Want something to make the black and white photos pop!!

I have been putting off doing a layout about September 11, 2001 for years because it is still too difficult emotionally to tackle. I was 7 months pregnant with my second son then and life just hasn't been the same since that date. I don't ever want to forget those that lost their lives or their loved ones on that date--but, it's just too raw for me to journal about-even today.

I've been putting off doing our TWO trips to Disney World. I think it's a bit overwhelming with all the photos (that I haven't printed yet).

I've been putting of a little fabric/chipboard mini book I made with pictures of my daughter visiting my Mom and Dad's quilt shop. All the pictures and little embelishments are finished but I don't like the ribbon I tied to the binding ring. So I haven't mailed it yet thinking I need to find the perfect ribbon. We are going to visit next week so I have to wrap it up VERY soon so I can take it with me!

I have been putting off a layout about three friends-- my college roommate for 2 1/2 years, a dear friend of ours who passed away two years ago, and myself. The one thing we have in common (actually one of many things we have in common) is that we shared the same roommate: Linda and I were roommates for 2 1/2 years. When I left the college a semester early (early graduation), Jane moved in. Jane died two years ago when an aneurysm ruptured during a church service. As my older son enrolled in our alma mater, memories of the three of us surfaced. Linda emailed me a picture of the three of us at graduation. I have had that picture out for months but I am unable to find the way that feels right to scrap it. I'm just not ready.

I have been putting off making an album for my dad with photos of our family through the years. My mom died a few years ago and my dad asked me to make the album last Christmas and I have been putting it off because 1) it needs to be perfect and 2) it is difficult for me to put together pictures across different years, etc. in a unifying way.

I've been putting off doing my vacation book because my pictures aren't organized. It would be such a big project to go through and find all of the pictures I want to include. Charlene

I started into a Winter acrylic album at a class in February. Featuring photos of my two children over three winters. I started off with a dark blue paint dauber on the edges and I don't like what I have done so far. Lacking courage to go on.

I have a huge pile of photos that are from my parents' childhood up through my own, and I have an album to put them in and some supplies ready - but I'm afraid of getting behind with the stories happening now that I want to tell.

Wow! You sure have a lot of readers ready to snap up these clear albums. (Not that I'm surprised at all.)
The project I've been putting off is my daughters christening. I think that a clear album might be just right for such an innocent occation.
*keeping my fingers crossed*
