Three Things : Three Giveaways
A fun Tuesday giveaway:
1. Five gift certificates to Songbird Avenue. Here's what's cool about these guys: they are a digital scrapbooking-based online boutique
whose proceeds are donated to various charities each month in an effort
to give compassionately to those in need. Definitely a site to check out and support.
2. One November kit from Stampin With Steph (a Stampin Up independent demonstrator).
3. One November kit (designed by Stacy Julian) for Cocoa Daisy (you will receive this in early November).
To be entered into the drawing leave a comment below and let me know how you celebrate the fall season. Comments will be closed today (Tuesday) at 8pm Pacific and the winners announced shortly after.

Welcome to October! I absolutely adore autumn and it is in full swing where I live (Kansas). Autumn temperatures are finally here, which is something to celebrate! My definition of autumn temperatures are 50-60’s during the day, 40’s at night. This week we finally have them.
Waiting for Fall to arrive is like waiting for your relatives to get to your house on Christmas day so you can open up all your gifts.
I love all the smells of the spicy apple and cinnamon. But the number one thing I ways got back to is my children's picture books(I teach first grade) about pumpkins and fall. The kiddos in my classroom get so excited. There are so many things to teach when fall approaches that are easy to tie into our curriculum. We display all of our books around the classroom and display them in picture holders. The kiddos love it. I get excited also to go to the pumpkin patch and to the apple orchard to pick yummy apples. Yep Fall, you are finally here!

Here in New England we have ample opportunities for fun in the fall, Our family always goes on our annual hayride, my husband and I started this tradition 13 years ago after we got married on Oct.11th, This year with our 3 kids we started a new tradition(we put up a new tire swing and pile up all the leaves from our old sugar maple tree and let the kids swing and jump into the leaves off of the swing) They love it!!

When our kids were little we always went to the pumpkin farm and they got to pick out their own pumpkins. Now that they are 17 and 22, I decorate outside our front door with a scarecrow, mums and pumpkins of all different sizes. I also love to do old-fashioned leaf rubbings (with crayons) with my kindergarten class. They are always amazed and they look really cool!

Pour nous c'est se promener en forêt ramasser des châtaignes , puis les faire griller dans la cheminée
For us is to walk in forest to collect sweet chestnuts, then to make them roast in the chimney!

We love to go to a local family farm to run through the corn maze, have photos in the pumpkin patch, buy apples, feed the animals and climb on the farm equipment. So much fun!

I moved from Ohio to South Texas four years ago, so fall feels different to me down here. I am about to get out my fall candles and decor and buy our pumpkins. Fall comes later for us here, but I still enjoy it.

We go to a state park and stay a few nights and we have bonfires, hike on trails to a cave and go thru it, go on a hayride, ride horses, eat lots, and trick or treat thru the campground. And we go to the same tree and the kids climb up and sit on the same branch and I take their picture all together. This week when we go will be our 19th year!!!

I love Fall! There are so many great things to do, see, smell and feel... I love to see the leaves on the trees changing colors, cool crisp mornings, trips to the pumpkin patch, the excitement of Halloween, baking with apples and pumpkin and smelling all those warm spices! I think my favorite smell of Fall comes when I bake my pumpkin muffins. I don't remember where I found the recipe but I having been baking them for probably 10 years now and look forward to them each time this season rolls around!

We celebrate Fall by decorating the house with lots and lots of pumpkins. We go to the pumpkin patch and go on the hay ride. My inlaws have a weenie roast and we have a bon fire. I love this time of the year especially watching the leaves turn colors.

We are celebrating fall this year in a new way! With real fall stuff. We moved from Arizona (with somewhat of a fall) to Kentucky. We've enjoyed watching the leaves turn, the smell of people's firepits at night, and the much cooler temperatures. It's incredible.

Let's see...
Raspberry Picking, participating in the semi-annual clothing swap, and shopping for school supplies start us off (Yes, I love the smell of pencils in the fall). Then we get into Apple Picking and having the playground to ourselves during the day (now that the "big kids" are in school). Add in tiny tikes soccer games on Saturday mornings and watching football on Sunday afternoons. Then a few fall hikes and several trail walks to see the foliage, critters gathering nuts, and birds migrating. And last week a school field trip, a day at the farm feeding a baby cow, and going on a pumpkin hunt.... now all that is left: making apple spice coffee cake, raking the leaves in our yard, carving pumpkins, turning the clocks back, going trick-or-treating, spending time with family for Thanksgiving, and shopping on Black Friday (my favorite tradition that I got my husband hooked on!).
Well, even if I don't win the prizes, I just thought of several things that I have never scrapped about before. Thanks for the inspiration, Ali --- I am going to copy this comment into a word document to save for later.:)

I forgot to mention how we celebrate fall!! We love to eat freshly picked apples with caramel sauce! Our 4 year old has decided that this is a great treat! Also we have a wonderful Harvest Celebration at church in place of 'trick or treating'! We're all looking forward to that!
