Three Things + 1 : Lots of Love (and giveaways)
Tags:This week we are taking a peek at a couple Valentine/Love related products. Look for another round of three next week - there are just too many cool things out there for creating projects that celebrate those you love.

• Thinking a little tiny bit about Valentine projects (must be all the pink). Planning to use my new "Loving Stamps" from Technique Tuesday on something Valentine related. You can also pick up a similar digital version called "Loving Life Word Art." You can download the new Technique Tuesday 2009 Winter Supplement (pdf)
to see the entire line of stamps (or go here).

• Speaking of Valentine's, one of my favorite product lines from CHA last summer
(the big Craft & Hobby show) was from Little Yellow Bicycle called "Love Letters." I love the cardstock stickers (shown above),

• This wonderful print that is going to hang somewhere in my house (maybe in the baby's room or a bathroom) from isophotography (found via poppytalk handmade). It would make a great gift for a loved one.
• And one more lovey thing I couldn't resist this week: little love notes tickets from Making Memories.
[ Three Things is a weekly product series : check out the archives here. ]

To be entered into today's drawing please leave a comment letting me know how you celebrate Valentine's Day. Comments will be closed tonight at 9pm with the winner's posted shortly after.

Unfortunately we don't do anything in particular. I would be more into it if my husband was...I like cards and small gifts, but he just isn't into it, so my entusiasm has dropped significantly over the past few years. I'm definitely not into the fancy dinners though. Just give me a card and a smooch and I'm happy!

I like to do something that does not involve candy for my girls. Last year, I got them both personalized, red-striped aprons from Pottery Barn Kids.
Both girls love to be in the kitchen and helping - even the 19-month old! - so they will be able to use the aprons for years to come.
Then, I made my then 6-year old a lunch with a heart-shaped sandwich (metal cookie cutters are good for this) and I think I even used them on a cheese slice, too.
I haven't decided on this year but it will probably involve my cookie cutters and a red or pink treat.

So glad I looked at your post today, Ali. I just signed on to ClickinMoms.com yesterday!
Anyway, my almost 7 year old daughter was born on Valentine's Day. As you can imagine that day is very special to us. We celebrate with lots of hearts, love, pink and red. We usually do a family thing together and share things we love about each other.

When I was a little girl, my dad always brought me and my brother candy in a heart shaped box from Russell Stover. It was a smaller box with maybe 10 pieces but it was red and shiny and made me feel SO grown up and special. Now that we have two daughters of our own, my husband buys them a box of candy each year. They love it as much as I did!

Our anniversary is the week before, and we will be celebrating 12 years!...
so we don't really do much between us. But i do make a special breakfast for our DS (and since it is on a Sunday, we all get to enjoy it!) and a special dinner filled with our favorites (YUM!). I decorate the dinner table with flowers and after dinner we exchange our small gifts of love.
I will usually make heart shaped brownies or cookies and my DS and i will hand deliver them to DH's work, but this year and last we got to eat them all ourselves!;)
I made a craft project last year, that we will bring out and write new hearts for it. I bought a small metal "tree" and on each branch i've hung a heart diecut. On each heart (4 for each of us) we write "i love" ________ because.....", and we read them aloud after dinner. I loved hearing what my DS wrote, the things that then 5 year olds think of! Can't wait for this year!
Awesome giveaways! Thanks Ali!

don't really celebrate much. my husband is a firm believer that Valentine's Day is just a very commercialized day and... I tend to agree. We exchange cards, and we might go out to dinner, but if we decide to go on another day, that's just as well.
I work in an elementary school, so I do enjoy seeing the kids exchanging valentines and all the white-pink-red construction paper products all over. :)

I like to switch things up; I rarely do the exact same thing from one year to the next. This year, I'm planning some special Valentine meals, a love letter to my husband, and a homemade valentines and related crafts week with my kiddos. Ooooh, I love this holiday :)

Hi Ali!
We make heart-shaped shortbread cookies that we dip in dark chocolate and sprinkles...we pack them in individual plastic bags and make a pretty tag. Then each of us give them away to whomever...and feel so good inside to have baked something yummy together and with lots of giggle and love!

Thanks Ali for everything you do...YOU my friend spread so much LOVE all year long!!

What awesome goodies! Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays. That's the one day of the year that I get something handmade by my honey.

Usually we celebrate as a family with a nice dinner, paper hearts decorating the table & candle light. We also do sparkeling grape juice in fancy (plastic) wine glasses. The kids get a kick out of the fancy atmosphere.

I love Valentine's Day! We may not do anything too extravagant, but we all feel loved, that is what matters. I always make my hubby a Valentine's cake and my son and I make Valentine's and fun crafts. He will be at school this year...sigh...will need to come up with something different for him this year. Even our fur baby gets an extra dose of loving by getting a new toy! :)

In year's past I have always bought somethin for my son and husband. This is my son's first year in school so I am thinking of putting cute love notes in his lunchbox this year. Since it is on Saturday this year we might have to have a special heart shaped pancake breakfast!

My special Valentines celebration is spending the evening with my Mom. This year I am taking her to see the traveling production of Wicked (cheap seats way at the top, but we are both elated to be going!)

I teach kindergarten so that's always a fun day in class with their excitement over their little cards and decorated cookies.
At home I always make a special dinner for the four of us and have a little gift at everyone's plate...such a fun day to ward off the mid-winter blahs.

I send funny Valentine's Day cards to my friends. Even though we're all adults, it's still fun to receive something other than bills in the mail. My husband and I avoid going out to eat because every where is too crowded. Instead, we make a nice dinner at home.

My hubby usually gives me flowers and candy, or a little stuffed animal with a box of candy. One year, he had purple roses sent to me at work (purple is my fave color) along with a little purple bear. He's just so sweet! I usually make him his favorite dinner and make some kind of special dessert.

I usually make some kind of special dessert for us to enjoy as a family. And my daughters and I do a heat-themed craft project to send to their grandparents. What's important is that we spend time together :)

We enjoy the process of finding or making valentines and signing them. We also enjoy making a special container for our valentines.
