Three Things + 1 : Lots of Love (and giveaways)
Tags:This week we are taking a peek at a couple Valentine/Love related products. Look for another round of three next week - there are just too many cool things out there for creating projects that celebrate those you love.

• Thinking a little tiny bit about Valentine projects (must be all the pink). Planning to use my new "Loving Stamps" from Technique Tuesday on something Valentine related. You can also pick up a similar digital version called "Loving Life Word Art." You can download the new Technique Tuesday 2009 Winter Supplement (pdf)
to see the entire line of stamps (or go here).

• Speaking of Valentine's, one of my favorite product lines from CHA last summer
(the big Craft & Hobby show) was from Little Yellow Bicycle called "Love Letters." I love the cardstock stickers (shown above),

• This wonderful print that is going to hang somewhere in my house (maybe in the baby's room or a bathroom) from isophotography (found via poppytalk handmade). It would make a great gift for a loved one.
• And one more lovey thing I couldn't resist this week: little love notes tickets from Making Memories.

I decorate the house, and I usually get everyone a card and a small gift. My husband and I go out to eat. Oh and of course it wouldn't be valentines with out some conversation hearts too!

I make our 3 children home made sugar cookies and cut them into a giant heart shape and place each of their names on one. Then I place them at their breakfast seat the on Valentine's morning and wait for their little faces to rise and shine and smile at all that yummy sugar. They find it a nice deviation from the oatmeal and egg routine ;)

I decorate with red & pink. For breakfast, I make red or pink foods & write notes to my kids & put them in their backpacks & one for dh too.
My kids have always loved when I make the table "fancy" and they get to drink out of "real" glasses, esp. the fancy ones :P with a special red or pink drink inside, but it could be water as long as it was in the fancy glass. I also make a yummy dessert, usually with strawberries and/or raspberries.

Every year my husband I got to Cheesecake Bistro for dinner on Valentine's Day. We enjoy the food, really enjoy the cheesecake and love each other's company. This year though we decided to make our dinner a little more special by picking up dinner from Cheesecake Bistro and bringing home, so it's just the two of us for dinner, with dimmed lights, candles, music, and champagne. I can't wait for Valentine's Day!

I'm starting a new tradition this year. My daughter and husband decorated a foam mailbox and we are all going to leave little love notes to each other for the next month. Also, this year, hubby and i are going to San Diego for a mini vacation!

I never really had any Valentine's Day traditions growing up, so the hubby and I started getting a couple's massage to celebrate. This year will be our first Valentine's Day as a family of four, which is as sweet as I need it to be.

We don't go very big on Valentine's Day, we just enjoy the day with our little guy and if we can get a sitter maybe sneak out for a quick bite just the two of us. No gifts, just each other and a card. It's sweet and simple, and I love it!

We usually mark the occasion with either a picture together or an mini album of "us". I was not blessed with children, but my dog is my baby and she does get a special treat.

I love the girly-ness of valentines day! I decorate a little bit because the house seems so drab after we take down the Christmas decor. Dh and I don't really do much. I tell him not to get me anything yet every year he sends me flowers at work. I always make him a homemade card telling him how much I love him. The girls (well the oldest the baby is only 1)bring home valentines for us from daycare. We get them each a little something and that's about it. Nothing fancy around here, just show each other that we love each other a little more than normal.

My husband and I usually just make sure to spend the whole day together. Sometimes we go out of town to celebrate, but other times we just stay in town. It is also our neices birthday, so we celebrate that as well. Such a fun day and great giveaways for it!

I'll be making my hubby heart shaped no-bake cookies. It's his favorites and the heart-shaping has been a tradition since we were dating. That second Valentines with him (the first we had our 2nd date) I made him heart shaped pancakes as well. Hmm...I just looked at the calendar and since the 14th is on a Saturday, it's possible I'll be making heart shaped pancakes again. Cool! :-)
Happy day to you!

Hey Ali--- Oh my goodness, almost 1000 comments, wow! Valentine's Day is my most favorite holiday ever. I always write my husband a love letter and then if we can we like to take the day off work together, I also always take some photos of us together with the timer and tripod, I think since it is Valentine's Day, he is more willing to play along with me on that particular day. Anyway, great giveaways and I love all your favorite things...thanks, Lisa

We always give our kids something small for Valentine's Day. This year it will be a little tin mailbox filled with some goodies. We also buy the heart shaped pizza from Papa Murphys for dinner. My husband and I usually like to celebrate the day before so we don't have to fight the crowds. I love Valentine's Day! Btw, I love all the goodies you shared. They are so adorable!

Hi Ali
In our house Valentine's Day is about chocolate and fun, inexpensive little gifts and maybe a cupcake or two. I try not to get caught up in the commercial aspects of the day.

I have helped my daughter make handmade valentines for her friends since she started kinder 4 years ago. We have a lot of fun doing this together. On the day, we will have a fun, relaxing family dinner. My husband and I usually have a date night some other evening in the same week to avoid the crowds and the babysitter difficulties!

In the past DH and I have just made it a nice night in at home and haven't done a whole lot. But, now that we have a new little one, we're going to jazz it up a bit! I'm going to make heart cupcakes and do a little scavenger hunt for valentine's goodies. Oh, and this year we'll also be taking her to a UofA basketball game :)
