Sweet Peach
Tags:Our little sweet peach fancy pants.
I love how nicknames tend to take on a life of their own. Peach. Sweet peach. Fancy pants. And then of course you have to string some of them all together. So many different terms of endearment - some stick and some fade over time (thankfully).
I am pretty sure I captured some of Simon's nicknames ("Simon-bug" & "bugga bugga" were early favorites) but would need to go back through his albums to see how many I really documented. Those are the little things that we lose way too quickly if they don't get written down.
Anna's doing great. She's gaining weight (almost 7 pounds now) and being awake a bit more. I am feeling better and more confident in general. Finding my way once again through the maze that is baby-ness.
My sister-in-law Liz was here this past weekend. There is nothing quite like having very helpful people around - especially ones who are excellent cooks and who have a special way with infants. Liz is amazing. We love her and are so glad she was able to visit.
I think I finally decided on a direction to take on a 12x12 scrapbook for Anna. I am working on and documenting in the "Reflections" book but am starting to envision what will go into her first larger album. I'll share more on that in the coming weeks as it begins to come together.

So sweet. And so true about the nicknames. Poor Amelia was cutie-poo (me), chicken wing, fart factory and more in the first week alone. Luckily, most of them faded away, and I'm very happy I DID document it in her first album. Here's hoping that I have that kind of memory for #2.

I love that photo of Anna. It makes me smile. :) I know I saw my son lay that way many times when he was a baby and I look forward to seeing the next one that way too. It's such a "baby" pose if that makes any sense. Pulls at the heart strings. I'm glad to hear everyone is doing well!

oh what a sweet picture - there's almost a baby smell coming through my computer. Not to mention my uterus doing flips. We're still enjoying our one daughter but soon planning to add to the dynamics of the family. Can't wait to have a little one in the house again.
Thank you for sharing your life with us.

Oh Ali, she's just so precious! And so are YOU - thinking of all of your readers and posting so frequently instead of just taking care of YOU and your lovely family. Enjoy this special time.

Your darling Anna is absolutely beautiful. One of your comments in your blog a few days ago reminded me of the strangeness of talking about the 'children' when number two arrives. I had forgotten that feeling of excitement when I said for the first time, "the children are both asleep". We had children!! Exciting eh? Thanks for sharing your lives with us Ali.

Nicknames are wonderful for the 'little ones'. I wish I had done that. Guess I can still wrack my poor old brain and see if I can come up with some nicknames we used for our kids and some their friends came up with along the way!
Sweet photo of Anna!

I am the queen of nicknames, to the point where we are trying to decide on names for this baby and i am always saying "but what will we call him/her?!!!
Our youngest is called Joely-poly-rock-n-rolly!

Oh!! Nicknames! My kids are mostly grown now, but I can still remember all but one from when they were babies. #1 was Punkin, #2 was Peanut (she was tiny), #4 started out as Dude (our only boy) and ended up Duder somehow. #3 is the only baby nickname I can't remember. But she is now known as "princess" by all that know her (haha). And boy does she live up to her name. Enjoy them.

Oh my gosh Ali, she is a little angel - too adorable. I love reading about the nicknames too.
Also, I'm amazed how organized you've kept with an infant. It's very inspiring.

What a beautiful baby photo. Love the baby belly and toes. The knicknames are the best. My niece was "tood-sta-yama-yama!" for month! Don't ask where it came from, just a silly song we sang to her one day!

Awww...Ali, she is so perfect! When my 7 year old daughter was a baby, I called her "peach", "butter-bean", "monkey", and "lovebug." I still call her peach every day. sometimes peachy-weachy or peachy-pie, but usually just peach. well, i guess i still call her monkey sometimes too, but mostly peach! :)
