I heard Judas Priest's song "You've Got Another Thing Comin'" for the first time in a REALLY long time the other day. It has been at least 15 years since I listened to heavy metal music, and normally I would skip right over it. But I listened. And it was great...."If you think I'll sit around as the world goes by, you're thinking like a fool 'cause it's a case of do or die...out there is a fortune waiting to be had. If you think I'll let it go, your mad. You've got another thing comin'...In this world we're living in we have our share of sorrow. The answer now is don't give in, aim for a new tomorrow." Classic heavy metal. Awesome!

Oooh--what fun giveaways! My favorite song right now is "Lay Down My Sweet Baby" by Nicolette Larson. It is the only lullaby that will get my baby to calm down when he is fussy.

Just loving music makes it hard to pick just one, but the one that comes to my mind first is, "Have I told you lately," the version by Rod Stewart. Here is why; not only do I love the song itself but one summer day we were all sitting around the pool and(my children/family were at my sister's with her children/family, all kids in their teens/early 20's), the kids were talking with my parents. The discussion lead to who was Grandpa's favorite. After several "reasons" why one particular person was the favorite, my youngest daughter said, "I can prove I'm Grandpa's favorite. Gramps what' the name of OUR song?" My father smiled and said, "Have I told you lately." All the kids made grumbling sounds but concided that since they had a "SONG" she was the favorite. Until that moment I had no idea that the two them used to sing that together when they were alone. I'll never forget that moment, and since that day each time I hear that song, I think of the kids fighting over who was either Grandma's or Grandpa's favorite, for each truly believed they were secretly their favorite child.

Love all the cool giveaways today. Favorite song? Waayy too many to pick just one, but I could pinpoint a genre. That would have to be 80's music. I could also add the Olivia Newton-John CD "Warm and Tender". Love it!

My favorite song today is "The Heart of Life" from John Mayer. I found out on Twitter yesterday that a lovely couple's daughter Maddie passed away last weekend. Both the Dad and Mom blogged about her life and Twitterers tinted their avatars purple yesterday in honor of Maddie. Her funeral was yesterday and on this website there was a tribute video to her which played this song: http://remembermaddie.com/
My heart breaks for the family but I'm amazed at all the love and support a social media network can bring to them.

I love any song that I can sing along to. Particularly songs that I can turn up really loud when I am cleaning my house, and it seems more like a dance party than cleaning. Usually I seem to gravitate towards 80s songs like Girls Just Wanna Have Fun by Cyndi Lauper, and Summer of 69 by Bryan Adams. I love Madonna in the 80s, and some of the more "hard rocking" groups like AC/DC and Alice Cooper. Just recently I have discovered Joel Plaskett Emergency, and I am really loving his music. Specifically "Can i go nowhere with you"
