I like the round pop dots and after they are all gone I cut the remaining piece down and use it too.

My husband would never think anything about my scrapbooking is frugal; but I do save all my scraps for my boys to use and play with. They LOVE to use the punches.
No Atlanta for me unfortunately.

I use the bottom strips of my papers for journaling strips. The single sided papers are usually white at the back and just the right height for writing those lines of text for my pages.

You know when you're missing a really crucial letter off an alphabet sheet -- like, say, you want to spell 'mommy' but need 3 m's? I have become expert at taking other letters, say, n's and u's, and cutting & piecing them into ones I need. And nobody can tell! :)
(... and sadly, I don't live near Atlanta. Good luck, Atlanta gals!)

I would not be able to attend in Atlanta. My tip is to look in unexpected places for materials to add to my pages. Jill S

My frugal tip would definitely be to think first before buying -- and try to use what you have on hand already at home!
I could definitely manage to get to Atlanta for the Scrap ETC. event! (I'm in South Florida)

I keep all of my scraps in little folders sorted by colour and I ALWAYS check it first if I need a small piece.

I look for everything and anything I can "recycle" form things I buy to use on cards, etc. For example, the Converse jeans at Target come with cute little heavy chipboard circular tags with stars on them. Perect embellishments for cards and pages.

Such GREAT giveaways!! Hmmm, frugal scrapbooking tip. I assume you mean other than "don't buy everything you see!!" I guess that's a given!
What I like to do is use packaging from other things in my scrapbooking. They may not always be "archival safe" but that's ok for me. Like the packaging from tags, etc that sometimes have a cute paper/cardboard backing. You can use them for a journaling tag or cut with a die cutter and make cute shapes.

Thanks for the chance to win these wonderful giveaways! Unfortunately, I'm not able to attend the event in Atlanta.
As for a scrapping tip on saving money, lately I've discovered the pleasures of simple cardstock! I love patterned paper, but I've realized that my numerous stamps can make wonderful patterns too! So keep it simple by using cs as your base for a LO, and create your own patterned paper by using stamps - you can use them again and again and save $ in the process.

My frugal scrapbooking tip is about storage. I use the little plastic baby food containers with the snap on lids to store little embellishments (flowers, brads, etc.). I also use the plastic containers that I get my spinich in from Sam's Club to store scraps, ribbon, etc.) I'd rather use my money for supplies than for storage.

I'm in Atlanta, so I'd be able to attend the Scrap Etc Event! What great giveaways...as always! I have been printing photos at home lately. I think this has saved me time and money in the long run because I'm not paying extra for larger prints...also I can print as I go, no need to print a large amount for an order.

my frugal tip is to incorporate beautiful packaging and paper momentos from things i buy, restaurants and places i visit, that mean something to an event. they are real-life embellishments that have an immediate connection to the memories. when i use those, i find i don't need much purchased embellishments to complete a layout or album.

One of many frugal tips: I take no more than $10 IN CASH when I attend a Scrapmania. I bring my box of 12x12 paper and my box of scraps and work from there. Most of my layouts are very simple and reflect the basics of scrapbooking--paper, scissors and adhesive. I've been setting this limit for my self since last summer (since June) and have only spent $80 over 8 months on scrapbooking materials.

In addition to saving scraps and using my stash, I try to only buy sale items and I shop the clearance aisles at Hobby Lobby. Dollar Tree and Big Lots sometimes have great finds too. But my number one tip is looking in unusual places. I find lots of great things to use in my mail--wedding/graduation invitations can have some really usable parts.

To be frugal I save ALL my paper scraps just in case I might need a little accent one day... I cut out letters or just let a peek show behind a photo, etc...

My frugal tip is to use what I have and stay out of the scrapbooking stores. :) And, I stay stocked up on a few inexpensive basics like white cardstock.

I don't think I could make it to GA, but it sounds awesome! I really love Shabby Chic tags! Not sure that I have a frugal tip; I keep scraps and keep the cards I think I can use pieces off of!

Frugal tip:
Making your own embellishments out of patterned paper. I am constantly cutting out interesting designs and shapes out of my pp. You can add glossy accents, add pop dots to make things more 3-D. It's much better than spending $5 plus on a small package of embellishments.
Frugal tip #2:
Sewing--hand or machine stitching is one of the cheapest way to add visual interest to a layout.
I would love to win a seat at Scrap Etc.--paying for the hotel would be my birthday present to myself!!!!
