For me I find that embellishments are usually the most expensive items to buy. Lately I have been using a lot of buttons on my pages to jazz things up. But to buy one pack of "designer" buttons can cost a lot, especially if I only need a couple.
So my frugal tip is to check any old clothes around your house for spare buttons. I have been spring cleaning and any shirts and jackets that are too worn to be donated to Goodwill are being cut up for house rags and the extra buttons are going into a jar for my pages!
This is also a great way for me to remember my favorite old coat or my college sweater that were just too tatty to keep. It adds another layer of memories to my pages.

My way to scrapbook frugally - BE ORGANIZED! Knowing what you have on hand will prevent you from buying duplicates. I also like to save things from packaging (ribbon, tags, plastic to die cut..) if I think it will look cool on a layout

As a student on a tight budget, I can't get lots of new products, so I try to use only the supplies that are already in my scrapbooking room. If there's something I've been wanting AND I have a coupon, then sometimes I get something as a special treat.
I live in Iowa, so I won't be able to go to Scrap Etc.

My frugal scrapbooking tip is to go digital! Everything you buy can be re-used and altered if necessary!

My frugral tip is to look carefully at the packaging and see if there are any items that can be reused--a tiny paper sample, plastic that can be diecut, a lid used as a paint bucket...maybe it's more of a recycle/reuse tip, but it does save time and the planet. I would NOT be able to attend the trip in Atlanta--but wish I could--so please take my name out of that drawing and give those that could a better chance to win!

Great giveaways! Living in Atl so the event is in my own backyard...didn't realize this! I'm a little late on the ephemera "train," but not only does it include a piece of your life on the page but also it cuts down on the number of embellishments that you're using.

frugal tip is sharing purchases with fellow scrappers. sometimes i only need a few sheets from a journalling pad or some pieces from a chipboard set, i split it with friends. that way we can get more for our money. :)

I pick up bags of buttons and ribbons in the dollar bins to use for scrapping. I give the scraps to the little ones and let them glue, write (scribble), and embellish--they have a great time!

"I am using using it up and wearing it out" Trying to stay away from the latest and greatest and getting just the essentials that I can use over and over.
p.s. i can attend the event at the end of the month... just a hope skip and a jump away...would love to go to the scrap etc. event.

My frugal tip is with pop dots-after you use up the dots, you can use up the rest of the piece (there is adhesive on the entire piece)--it is especially great if you have larger areas to cover that you want raised.

My frugal tip would be to use what is in your stash! I bet everyone has enough stuff to get a surprising amount done.

you can use your punches on a cereal or snack box and decorate to make embellishments. Sometimes I add paper or you can add some paint to the already colorful packaging for an interesting look.
I also save those extra buttons that always come in a little bag attached with the tag on tops, you can add those to your embellishment stash.

I like to take pictures of things or decorations in the environment when I am shooting an event and then use the photo of the "thing" as an embellishment. For example, if I am taking pictures of my youngest daughter on a merry-go-round, I also take a close up of the jewels on the horse. With a square punch, those jewels can become a funky accent that matches perfectly and costs no more than the price of a photo.

What fun giveaways!! My tip is using what I have...sometimes I forget until I dig a little bit thru my stash. I used to try to "save" my stash..for what, I don't know... but now I use it!

Stamp with your stash of paints instead of buying that odd color of ink you may not use again. Use punch outs and die cuts as masks instead of buying all the new ones on the market. Also dig out your old stencils and see how many "masks" you already own. I especially love when old products have new purpose.

My frugal tip is using an ATG instead of a wasteful Dotto or Tombo adhesive. I never have to throw away a cartridge and my adhesive usually lasts 5x as long as those brands.

The best frugal tip I have is to use what you have! Use the supplies you already have and use them in a new way!

I live close to Atlanta and have never been to a convention before and has always been on my wish list! I would love to be considered. As for frugal scrapbooking-I'm trying to get together a young group of girls I scrap with and establish a SCRAP-SWAP! For one just getting rid of the old and bringing in the new--and NO money is being spent!!!

My frugal scrapbooking tips is cheap baby wipes to clean up stamps and other stuff. I don't throw any paper away as one "never knows" what one might use. Not the neatest studio in the world as a result, but I LOVE my room.

I admit I have a tendancy to buy a bit on whim so sometimes have extra "stash" I've started using my stash to create "art" around my house like the butterfly project Ali did and various others. I also use them to make cards or make "kits" to give to scrapbook friends for their birthdays. Not really frugal as that would be probably buying in a more focused way, but I do end up using most everything in a reasonable time so it works for me
(Too pregnant and too far from GA to attend the event sadly).
