Inside each of my cropper hopper vertical storage paper holders I keep each color/brand of paper separated in 12x12 or 8 1/2 x 11 plastic page protectors (the kind you can buy cheep in bulk at office supply or Hobby Lobby). All scraps from that color go back in the sleeve. When I need that color I see if the scraps are big enough for what I need first - easy as they are in the same place. They don't get bent and I know that every piece in there is the same dye lot/color.

To make a picture look matted without using additional paper, glue your picture to your layout and outline the picture with a thick marker...looks like it's matted. (love the give-aways but I can't make it to Atlanta anytime soon!)

Yes, I would be able to go to Atlanta!
My frugal tip is hoarding "chipboard" - from everything to cereal boxes to USPS priority mail boxes. I love to make mini albums by cutting pages from my "found chipboard".

My frugal tip is to sign up for a scrapbook kit that you like. I know exactly how much it's going to cost me and I never have to buy anything besides basic cardstock and adhesive!

I use items from my kids toys. Pieces from puzzles that no longer have all the pieces, wooden letter and shapes from puzzles, old chipboard books repurposed into mini albums. I also save the envelopes I get in my junk mail and make new mini envelopes.

Frugal tip: I cut my Mini Glue Dots in half. Keep the clear cover on while you're cutting so that it doesn't get all mucked up.

I can travel no worries there! My frugal time is to take the cards and/or decorations from an event and use as embellishments for you page.

Save paper scraps for die cuts, punchies, photo corners.

Great giveaways this week!
I like to use the plastic packaging from embellishments for paint trays - less waste and no clean-up! Also, I love to use the negative space from EVERYTHING: letters, shapes, stuff I cut out on my Cricut... It's essentially free, and looks cool too!

My frugal tip is to keep your scraps & after the project immediately take some time & make cards with the scraps. Saves gas on going to buy cards, saves paper cause you are using stuff you might have thrown away & gets your creativity flowing too! I love doing this & then I always have a few cards on hand for those special occasions.

I would love to go to the Scrap Etc. event! It sounds amazing. I live in SC, so it's really close. My frugal tip is to shop for paper ephemera at second-hand stores and antique shops. You can find really cool old children's books and antique ledger books...and each book has many pages so you get more for your dollar. Plus you can share with friends.

Keep it simple and tell the story, ink be it computer or from a pen in fairly cheap, heck use the crayon that everyone is using for their new tool.. you don't need fancy stars or diamond rings to tell the story.. just a pen (or computer) your memory & photos.. and sometimes, you don't even need the photos..

WOW those are great products and I would be beyond excited to go to the Scrap Etc. event--and I can go!
My tip is something I figured out this year. I had some friends Christmas cards that I loved, so I took their pictures off and used their background as matting on some of my Christmas (and even Valentine's too) scrap pages. They came out so cute and they were free! Next year, I may go furthewr and cut out some of the raised motifs and create some embellishments too.

Frugal tip -- I save all packaging chipboard to then use later on pages or to make into mini-books. Fun giveaway -- I would not be able to go to the Scraps etc event -- it would be fun though!

Great give aways! My frugal tip is to go through your stash. I have so many products that I "had to have" and then I forgot I had them! Before I go out and spend even more, I take a peek at what I have already!

I need to be more frugal when it comes to scrapbooking, so this is a tough one!! I do use a lot of birthday scraps for birthday pages (i.e., birthday cards, wrapping paper, fun napkins, balloons, etc.). I love those pages because they are so personalized with messages from family and friends.

I don't know if this is really a frugal tip, but challenging yourself to use what you have in your stash, rather than continuing to buy, buy, buy all the new stuff will not only help you save money but it will also help you to simplify (for those feeling overwhelmed by all of their stuff). You may have to purchase letter stickers and some basic cardstock, but other than that, I better many of us could go for a long time without "needing" to purchase additional things.

Make your own embellishments. I have both of Becky Higgins books "Creative Companion" 1 & 2 with lots of inspiration. Rubber and acrylic Stamps are another way to extend our money. Doodling --- the possibilities are endless. Going back to the roots of scrapbooking. I looked at an older book and was amazed at the things the scrapbookers used to make their embellishments. They did not have all the things available today that we have--they MADE their own stuff.
