My tip is to use a scrap as much as possible. I am always saving good size pieces for punching out circles or letters next time.

I like using magazine pages for rubber stamping...I once used my daughter's prom magazines for mermaids.....the skin and sparkly dresses worked perfectly....I also like to use catalogues for backrounds for pictures and diecuts (love the sand and footprints in the latest Anthropology catalogue). I feel better throwing them out (recycling them of course) after I cut them all up. Also flower pictures from magazines and catalogues are great backrounds for journaling.

Pick a few colors of cs you use a lot (for me it's white, kraft, and black) and buy in bulk! Much cheaper.

My frugal tip is to never let scraps go to waste! When I finish scrapbooking for the day I use the scraps to make a couple of quick cards.

My frugal tip (I'm about as cheap as it gets!) is to use products as inspiration. Love that journaling block from a certain designer? Make one using scraps! Love that scalloped paper? Buy one sheet, make a template from it then use the template with less expensive paper from your stash. Love a doodle design? Copy it using your scraps and a few pens. If the fun is in the creating, saving money should make scrapbooking even more satisfying!

I guess my best tip is to embellish less.. It's economic and it's pretty too, and the photo+story wont drown in pretty stuff.. :)
Shopping on sale is also a winner!:D

My tip is to always use a coupon at Hobby Lobby! If it's not on sale already, then I just wait until a coupon comes out! Sure keeps those splurges to a minimum!!!

I've learned some of my best tips from YOU! I'm learning to use what I have on hand, instead of purchasing the "latest and greatest"...and I save all scraps to use on making mini books, which I LOVE......
as for Scrap. Etc......I would love to attend since I live near Atlanta! Melodee Langworthy is one of my favorites!

I use some of the packaging that comes with my scrap supplies on my pages-sometimes the packaging is super cute and I hate to throw it away!

Inside each of my cropper hopper vertical storage paper holders I keep each color/brand of paper separated in 12x12 or 8 1/2 x 11 plastic page protectors (the kind you can buy cheep in bulk at office supply or Hobby Lobby). All scraps from that color go back in the sleeve. When I need that color I see if the scraps are big enough for what I need first - easy as they are in the same place. They don't get bent and I know that every piece in there is the same dye lot/color.

To make a picture look matted without using additional paper, glue your picture to your layout and outline the picture with a thick marker...looks like it's matted. (love the give-aways but I can't make it to Atlanta anytime soon!)

Yes, I would be able to go to Atlanta!
My frugal tip is hoarding "chipboard" - from everything to cereal boxes to USPS priority mail boxes. I love to make mini albums by cutting pages from my "found chipboard".

My frugal tip is to sign up for a scrapbook kit that you like. I know exactly how much it's going to cost me and I never have to buy anything besides basic cardstock and adhesive!

I use items from my kids toys. Pieces from puzzles that no longer have all the pieces, wooden letter and shapes from puzzles, old chipboard books repurposed into mini albums. I also save the envelopes I get in my junk mail and make new mini envelopes.

Frugal tip: I cut my Mini Glue Dots in half. Keep the clear cover on while you're cutting so that it doesn't get all mucked up.

I can travel no worries there! My frugal time is to take the cards and/or decorations from an event and use as embellishments for you page.

    Great giveaways this week!
I like to use the plastic packaging from embellishments for paint trays - less waste and no clean-up! Also, I love to use the negative space from EVERYTHING: letters, shapes, stuff I cut out on my Cricut... It's essentially free, and looks cool too!

My frugal tip is to keep your scraps & after the project immediately take some time & make cards with the scraps. Saves gas on going to buy cards, saves paper cause you are using stuff you might have thrown away & gets your creativity flowing too! I love doing this & then I always have a few cards on hand for those special occasions.

I would love to go to the Scrap Etc. event! It sounds amazing. I live in SC, so it's really close. My frugal tip is to shop for paper ephemera at second-hand stores and antique shops. You can find really cool old children's books and antique ledger books...and each book has many pages so you get more for your dollar. Plus you can share with friends.

Keep it simple and tell the story, ink be it computer or from a pen in fairly cheap, heck use the crayon that everyone is using for their new tool.. you don't need fancy stars or diamond rings to tell the story.. just a pen (or computer) your memory & photos.. and sometimes, you don't even need the photos..

WOW those are great products and I would be beyond excited to go to the Scrap Etc. event--and I can go!
My tip is something I figured out this year. I had some friends Christmas cards that I loved, so I took their pictures off and used their background as matting on some of my Christmas (and even Valentine's too) scrap pages. They came out so cute and they were free! Next year, I may go furthewr and cut out some of the raised motifs and create some embellishments too.

Frugal tip -- I save all packaging chipboard to then use later on pages or to make into mini-books. Fun giveaway -- I would not be able to go to the Scraps etc event -- it would be fun though!
