Coupons and sales! I look at the Hobby Lobby flier in the Sunday paper every week. I also always use coupons at my Archivers.

Most of the items I purchase come with extras (extra sticker sheets, lots of journaling cards. I share them with my scrapin' bud, Heather, and she does the same for me! Please exclude me from the Scrap Etc. My babies wouldn't appreciate my absence this soon. Thank you!

I use coupons for the necessary things like adhesive or journaling pens. It helps the budget a lot!
(I couldn't make it to Atlanta, although it sounds like fun!)

This isn't a tip but I'm frugal about keeping my scraps of paper. I always think there will be another use for them.

Three very fabulous giveaways! ... frugal tip: I like to cut out my paper/cardstock where it will be overlayed by anther element and use that paper for titles and such. ... then I don't have to cut up another full sheet of paper!

Use what you have before you buy, I can look through my stash and always find something I forgot that I bought, thanks for the give aways. Brenda

Thank you for showcasing some great scrapbook products. I would never have known they existed and I really like this week's styles. I could not attend the Scrap Etc. event BTW.
My frugal tip is to check clearance aisles at your stores for scrapbook products. I've found items I didn't even see while on the shelf and many times new packaging arrives and they discount the older styles.

The best tip I have learned over the years, is there is no right or wrong way to scrap, just be yourself, enjoy the hobby and most important HAVE FUN with it!

Ali, thanks for the great giveaways again! I have to echo a lot of the previous posts.."Shop" your own stash first, use your scraps, and after you make your layout, make a card or two with the scraps while you have all the coordinating supplies out and ready to use---Save time and Save money.

I love Elles Studio tags, and I love the pink striped packaging insert, so I use that as patterned paper on some of my projects, as well as the fun patterns on the back of the "Thank You" insert that comes in an envelope with order of Elles products.

My frugal tip is to use the new fabulous edged papers and chipboard shapes as templates. This way, you can turn a standard-price patterned paper into a designer-edged one, and use a pricey chipboard shape to make your own paper piecings and accents. I also don't cover chipboard with paper - I either trace, cut, and pop-up just the paper for the added diminsion, or I paint the chipboard (sometimes stamping over this). Saves a bit of money on supplies. :)

Right now I think being frugal includes being organized: knowing what you ahve so you do not buy the same thing again...

I only live an hour and a half away from Atlanta...it would be a treat to be able to go! :)
Something frugal? Well, I always save any piece of scrap I have leftover from a project that's bigger than a quarter in a box. You never know when you might be able to use them!

What great giveaways.
Whenever I'm working on a project, I sort my matching papers and embellishments into two-gallon zip-loc bags. All my scraps go back into the bag for use on another day.

I try and use what I have for my lay outs before heading out to the store. Sometimes it is easy to forget what is in your stash.

I live in Atlanta and would be thrilled to attend Scrap etc...and winning here on your site would sure be a frugal way to scrapbook!
As for daily frugal scrapbooking...pretty simple...I use my stash! When I need something new, I try to use a coupon.
Thanks for your daily inspiration Ali!

My favorite scrapbooking is heritage. I make a lot of heritage pages!! Even if I don't win any give aways, thanks for all the resources. Also, I would not be able to be in Atlanta for the Scrap Event.

frugal tip: to make your own cardstock, simply punch out your shape multiples of times from cardstock, then glue and layer them up!

one of the things i've learned is that i need to break up my scrapbooking into chunks or i get overwhelmed and don't end up scrapping as much as i want. so i pick pictures and then later when i have another 15 minute chunk of time, i'll look for paper or embellishments or a sketch to inspire me. it's really helped me to make progress and not stress that i can't do a project from start to finish in one shot.

I only buy cardstock in bulk and only when the packs are on sale. Cardstock is what I use the most so I need to have it on hand all the time...buying the bundle packs on sale gets me double the deal.

My frugal tip is to only buy supplies for the project you are in the process of doing. Don't just buy an entire line of new paper just because. My other frugal tip is to share supplies with a friend. Sometimes we only want a piece of paper for one page. We use it, have some left, and then share.

I have found that journaling a little every day, whether per blog or hand written or computer helps and when I finally get time to work on a layout the journaling is mostly done.

digital papers can be recolored by using the hue-saturation feature in photoshop. Classes by Jessica Sprague will save you hours of frustration.

I used to be afraid to use my paper (which was silly for me). Now my rule is to buy, I must USE! It works pretty well with me and I don't just collect.
And I could go to that event in Atlanta!
