Simplify 101 • one person will receive a spot in the online workshop Organize Your Paper Clutter with Aby Garvey
Paper, paper everywhere! That paper mountain growing on your countertop
represents a loss of freedom, a loss of control, and a nagging feeling
in your gut that something important isn’t getting attended to. Your
paper, and the feelings it creates, makes it hard to relax, focus or
even have fun.
Here’s
the good news: there is a better way! With the right paper organizing
systems in place—those created with you, your paper, and your home in
mind—you can free yourself from paper clutter and the stress that comes
along with it. In Organize Your Paper Clutter, you’ll learn a
step-by-step process on how to decide if you need a piece of paper (and
for how long!) and how to organize it so you’ll find it again right
when you need it! Your piles (and your stress!) will be replaced by
organizing systems you love, and feelings of confidence, relief and
peace of mind!
Start date: Tuesday, April 21, 2009
End date: Tuesday, June 9, 2009
Registration status: open!
Read more specific details for the workshop here.

I love reading. However, only a few books make it to my bookshelf as real "keepers". "SHILOH AUTUMN" by Bodie & Brock Thoene is an all time favorite that I hope to share with my grandchildren someday. This novel is set in the early 1930's and tells the story of an Arkansas family who suffer through the worst of the great depression. Thier love for each other and their faith in God makes this a timeless story of courage, faith, and hope. Love it!

I can't really pick one, but any novel by Jodi Picoult is amazing!

You are SO generous with your giveaways- great ones too! It's not a novel, but right now I am enjoying Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover- re-reading for the 3rd time. Very motivating to stay on the course of no debt. And because I lack the time to find something new, I am reading a novel that I have read before that I love, "Year of Wonders". Great book!

The book I most recommend right now is "Crazy Love: Overwhelmed by a Relentless God" by Francis Chan. It's a great read especially for us Americans who have everything at our fingertips yet are always wanting more.

At the top of my list of favorite books is Possession by A.S. Byatt. They made a movie w/ Gwyneth Paltrow a few years back that didn't really capture the romance of the book, but it was okay. If your looking for a classic romance that weaves back & forth through time, I highly suggest this one.

I'm reading the Hot Shoe Diaries by Joe McNally right now. He's a fab National Geographic photographer and his latest book breaks down flash shooting with multiple flashes instead of the big strobes usually needed for lighting. Pretty cool

Lately all I've been reading is kid books and my kids love the How does a Dinosaur series. How does a dinosaur eat his food is their favorite. I love it because it helps teach table manners in a fun way.

I do a lot of "serious" reading and analyzing during the day so when I read at night, I'd rather chose something light and easy on the spirits. I really like the Shopaholic Serie because of that. :)

One of my new favorites is Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. It's got an amazing first person narrator--a nine year old boy whose father died in the 9/11 attack. There's a parallel story about the boy's grandparents' story. Very creative and fresh book.

My favorite book is any book about China. My adoptive daughter is Chinese so I have fallen in love with China and the Chinese culture. But, on the other hand I read everything....so it is hard to choose one book that is my favorite.
