Simplify 101 • one person will receive a spot in the online workshop Organize Your Paper Clutter with Aby Garvey
Paper, paper everywhere! That paper mountain growing on your countertop
represents a loss of freedom, a loss of control, and a nagging feeling
in your gut that something important isn’t getting attended to. Your
paper, and the feelings it creates, makes it hard to relax, focus or
even have fun.
Here’s
the good news: there is a better way! With the right paper organizing
systems in place—those created with you, your paper, and your home in
mind—you can free yourself from paper clutter and the stress that comes
along with it. In Organize Your Paper Clutter, you’ll learn a
step-by-step process on how to decide if you need a piece of paper (and
for how long!) and how to organize it so you’ll find it again right
when you need it! Your piles (and your stress!) will be replaced by
organizing systems you love, and feelings of confidence, relief and
peace of mind!
Start date: Tuesday, April 21, 2009
End date: Tuesday, June 9, 2009
Registration status: open!
Read more specific details for the workshop here.

My favourite one is "Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell" by Susanna Clarke. I had a great time reading it; it made me dream every time i took the book...

A few months ago, I read "A Thousand Splendid Suns." Both of Khaled Hosseini books (Kite Runner and 1000 Suns) have taught me so much about Afganistan culture, people, and recent and past historical events. "Suns" made me so aware of how very fortunate I am as a woman to live in the US both today and yesterday. It's not a light, happy book, but one we all should read, especially in today's times.

My favourite book is "Even Cowgirls Get the Blues" by Tom Robbins. I have passages underlined and discover new things that inspire each time I read it. :)

I am so inspired by The Middle Place by Kelly Corrigan. I don't normally buy books (I support the local library) but I had to have this one. I am dealing with my father's cancer and it helps so much to see that other people have been there and survived!
Enjoy that baby girl, she is beautiful!

I'm reading The Wonderful Wizard of Oz right now! Did you know it's a 7 book series?? The book is really sweet (much less frightening than the movie). I'm SO excited to read it with my kids when they are old enough! Oh, I can see the layout now ;)

I highly recommend The Raw Shark Texts. One of the more bizarre books I've ever read, but ultimately the most beautiful love story I've read in a very long time.

I SO need the Organizing class! My room is drowning in paper. And I missed returning (and paying) spring pictures by 20 days because it got buried in my pile. Sigh...
Anyway, a book I would strongly recommend is "The Search for Significance" by Robert McGee. That and also "Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World" by Joanna Weaver. I am also reading "Because He Loves Me" by Elyse Fitzpatrick. Hmmm, maybe that's why I can't get my paperwork filed - I'm reading too much!
Thanks for the giveaway and I love the pics of you and your baby.

I am particularly enjoying the book The Middle Place by Kelly Corrigan. She writes about being in that place between being a parent and still a daughter too and finding that balance. She is so wonderfully funny, even as she chronicles her battle with breast cancer.
(there was a wonderful youtube video titled "transcend" that went around the email circuit for a while...she reads an essay about women being there for each other...if you haven't seen it yet, get there quick!)

OH these are amazing! I'm especially drooling over the camera strap!
Favorite books:
"The Hunger Games" by Suzanne Collins. (Young Adult but amazingly well written with a great plot and characters that you root for. Plus a little romance.) It's newer so a lot of people haven't heard of it. But, I LOVED it.

honestly, the books i read recently are more romance based. Here's a nice book from Julie Garwood - The Wedding. I love it for its bits of adventure and passion, mixed in a perfect ratio. The after reading mood - light and joyous. That's what I love about reading.
I love to read a variety of books, there's no really favourite book but as long as the feeling is right, then that's my favourite book! :)
