Simplify 101 • one person will receive a spot in the online workshop Organize Your Paper Clutter with Aby Garvey

Paper, paper everywhere! That paper mountain growing on your countertop
represents a loss of freedom, a loss of control, and a nagging feeling
in your gut that something important isn’t getting attended to. Your
paper, and the feelings it creates, makes it hard to relax, focus or
even have fun.

Here’s
the good news: there is a better way! With the right paper organizing
systems in place—those created with you, your paper, and your home in
mind—you can free yourself from paper clutter and the stress that comes
along with it. In Organize Your Paper Clutter, you’ll learn a
step-by-step process on how to decide if you need a piece of paper (and
for how long!) and how to organize it so you’ll find it again right
when you need it! Your piles (and your stress!) will be replaced by
organizing systems you love, and feelings of confidence, relief and
peace of mind!

Start date: Tuesday, April 21, 2009
End date: Tuesday, June 9, 2009
Registration status:  open!

Read more specific details for the workshop here

I like your new blog header. & You have some nice things to give away today. I found The Secret Garden Cookbook to go with The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett. I am going to read the classic with my daughter and try some of the recipes.

I'm reading The Omnivore's Dilemma by Michael Pollan right now. VERY interesting, eye-opening book. His basic question is given that humans can eat a whole lot of things, how have we ended up with the particular (and fairly narrow) foods usually on our plates these days? Lots of discussion of the melding of organic and industrial agriculture as well. In the world of fiction, William Faulkner's As I Lay Dying will always be a favorite.
Can't wait to read this list at the end of the day. Thanks, Ali!

What a great list of books. Probably because I'm rereading them, but I'd have to say the Harry Potter series. If I really think...The Diary of Anne Frank. Changed my world when I read it in middle school.

My favorite books of late are anything by Debbie Macomber or Mary Kay Andrews. Debbie Macomber is a great story teller. She builds her characters and by the end of the book you feel like they are real and you know them! :) Mary Kay Andrews has a way of looking at things and an opinion that is sure to leave you laughing. I know it's not A book....but it's what's in my bag right now! :)

My favourite book at the moment apart from the Twilight series is "My Sister Keeper" by Jodi Picoult, it's such an emotional book about the bond of two sisters. Being away from my sister at the moment, it made it worst and tears were flowing everywhere... It's a beautiful book

My favorite book was given to me by my mother in law 10 years ago. It is Simple Abundance. It sits on my bedside table, and every now and then I'll read the story for that day. It's always uplifting. Even though I've probably read it all the way through several times, it always feels new.

I love "The #1 Ladies' Detective Agency" series by Alexander McCall Smith. They are an easy read, but not in a simplistic way. They are charming, heart-warming, and often very funny. Highly recommended!

This is such a hard question to answer...I think I'd say The Memory Keepers Daughter. It was such a heart wrenching story that pulled you in and kept you engrossed the entire time. I highly recommend reading it if you haven't.
