Simplify 101 • one person will receive a spot in the online workshop Organize Your Paper Clutter with Aby Garvey

Paper, paper everywhere! That paper mountain growing on your countertop
represents a loss of freedom, a loss of control, and a nagging feeling
in your gut that something important isn’t getting attended to. Your
paper, and the feelings it creates, makes it hard to relax, focus or
even have fun.

Here’s
the good news: there is a better way! With the right paper organizing
systems in place—those created with you, your paper, and your home in
mind—you can free yourself from paper clutter and the stress that comes
along with it. In Organize Your Paper Clutter, you’ll learn a
step-by-step process on how to decide if you need a piece of paper (and
for how long!) and how to organize it so you’ll find it again right
when you need it! Your piles (and your stress!) will be replaced by
organizing systems you love, and feelings of confidence, relief and
peace of mind!

Start date: Tuesday, April 21, 2009
End date: Tuesday, June 9, 2009
Registration status:  open!

Read more specific details for the workshop here

Ali - what great giveaways. My favorite book or series of books is the Mitford Series by Jan Karon. What a wonderful set of books. You just love the characters and the setting in a small town.

My favorite classics are Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte and The Good Earth by Pearl S Buck - LOVE BOTH OF THEM and read them again every few years.
Most recently, I have enjoyed the Twilight series (although I was disappointed in the ending), the Harry Potter books, and any mystery/drama I can get my hands on.
Right now, I'm reading the latest Jonathan Kellerman book and The Shack.

I love anything and everything by Francine Rivers - an amazing Christian author! She is brilliant! Another book I just finished reading was called Prisoners of Hope - a story about two women who went over to Afghanistan as missioners. After only a few months they were put in prison all while a war broke out (2002) - it was really encouraging and convicting! True story of faith!

My favorite book is Nicholas Sparks' The Rescue. I love anything by Nicholas Sparks and my husband (then boyfriend) gave me that book (the latest) for valentine's day with a proposal written on the inside. For a bookmark was my ring dangling from a piece of pretty ribbon! Still my favorite book 9 years later!
Oh and can I just say the camera straps are gorgeous!!!! I am soooo going to have to go check those out!

All time favorite is Look Homeward Angel by Thomas Wolf. I love anything written by Gladys Taber. She was my mother's favorite author and in the last year of Mom's life, while I stayed with her I read them all; all about finding comfort in the simple life.

Right now I am reading Mindless Eating: Why We Eat More Than We Think by Brian Wansink, PH.D. It is a good book that explains how so many of us say we can't lose wait and how we eat more than we really think because of eating clues. It gives several research studies, but it isn't "heavy". It is actually very easty to read and even fun.

The Bible. As a homeschool mom of 4, I rarely have time to read for pleasure. If I can't find time to read the Word, I don't read for pleasure. But I always find time for scrapbook magazines: Creating Keepsakes, Scrapbooks ETC... :)

I have so many favorite books (I can never pick just one!), but most of them are children's books. The one I always come back to is "The True Story of the Three Little Pigs." But a new favorite is the Elephant and Piggie series by Mo Willems.

I don't know that it's my favorite, but it's one of the best books I've read recently -- "Peace Like a River" by Leif Enger. Wonderful storytelling and a captivating plot.

Speaking of wonderful, a fabulous read is "Gift From The Sea" by Anne Morrow Lindbergh. It speaks of all things related to a life well lived, not just observed.
