Simplify 101 • one person will receive a spot in the online workshop Organize Your Paper Clutter with Aby Garvey

Paper, paper everywhere! That paper mountain growing on your countertop
represents a loss of freedom, a loss of control, and a nagging feeling
in your gut that something important isn’t getting attended to. Your
paper, and the feelings it creates, makes it hard to relax, focus or
even have fun.

Here’s
the good news: there is a better way! With the right paper organizing
systems in place—those created with you, your paper, and your home in
mind—you can free yourself from paper clutter and the stress that comes
along with it. In Organize Your Paper Clutter, you’ll learn a
step-by-step process on how to decide if you need a piece of paper (and
for how long!) and how to organize it so you’ll find it again right
when you need it! Your piles (and your stress!) will be replaced by
organizing systems you love, and feelings of confidence, relief and
peace of mind!

Start date: Tuesday, April 21, 2009
End date: Tuesday, June 9, 2009
Registration status:  open!

Hmmm, this is weird. I tried to post a note that I love Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus, by Mo Willems, (and also a grown-up book by Rob Bell, Velvet Elvis). I don't know if it's an issue of new format or just a crazy server, but it seems to have eaten my comment. Thus, I'm trying again...

One of my favorite books is Walking on Water by Madeleine L'Engle. My Aunt (a watercolor artist) gave it to me when I was 15. The book is Madeleine's writings about being a Christian and an artist. It's really good.

A good book - I've read so many books. My favorite is Stacy Julian's - The Big Picture - as it completely changed my scrapbooking style/mantra.
Non-scrapbooking, I'm reading the Chronicles of Narnia right now, very good.
Also, any book by Beth Moore is great. I'm doing the Esther bible study class right now - AMAZING.

Right now I am reading 'Uncommon -Finding Your Path to Significance' by Tony Dungy. He is the coach of the Indianapolis Colts and even though I'm not a huge football fan, I love this book.It is written mainly for men and young men but it has valuable insights for women as well.

Maybe not for everyone, but I just finished Special-Needs Kids Eat Right, strategies to help kids on the autism spectrum focus, learn and thrive, by Judy Converse, and it gave me many insights on possible nutritional interventions for my kids' SPD issues. It is also helpful for kids with ADHD. An easy read, packed with information from a nutritionist!

The One Minute Manager meets the Monkey by Kenneth H Blanchard. Yesterday somebody reminded me of this book which I read several years ago. I think I'll go find my copy and read it again.

My favorite book is the Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein. I can read and re-read this book over and over and never tire of it.
Shel Silverstein is my absolute all-time favorite author. I have been reading his stories and poems since I basically learned how to read.

My favorite book this year so far is The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society. It's about written correspondence shared between an author living in London & people on the island of Guernsey right after WWII. The book is fabulous & I even created a "potato peel pie" for the book club we just read it for.
