Wednesday Sponsor Giveaway : Get It Scrapped, Transparent Touches, & Blue Moon Scrapbooking
Get It Scrapped is giving away one spot in Pattie Knox's "More Mad Digital Skillz" online workshop.
Pattie Knox’s favorite part of digital scrapbooking is learning new techniques for creating realistic--as in “I can’t believe that’s not paper!”--layouts. In “More Mad Digital Skillz,” you’ll learn how to create torn edges on your photos and papers, how to insert photos into type, Pattie’s method for digital dry embossing, and much more about making your own brushes, working with custom shapes, and creating depth and interest with texture. Each lesson is accompanied by beautiful digital products from the talented artists at Designer Digitals—including Ali Edwards! Class starts May 25th at Get It Scrapped!

I just sit and write it all down. If it is short and sweet I always handwrite my journaling. I write it all out on scratch paper first before I grab a pen and write out the final version. If I want to tell a longer story then I type it out.

I guess my best tip would be to wright it down as you go. I carry around in my purse a small notebook about 2x4 in size and try when ever i get a sec to jot down what ever thoughs I have a the min, along with all the important info. Who, what, when, where. as I go then I can take that information when I go to do my lo and it helps me remenber all the little things I might have forgotten.

I've started using my phone to keep notes that I then transfer to a journal when I get home. It isn't always practical for me to carry a journal so my note pad on my cell phone works great for short storage of my "remembrances".

Write the thoughts/ story down immediately. Too often I have all intentions of jotting something down & it never happens!

I tend to "journal" for days in my head when I'm working out what to write. I don't know if this is the best method, but it does allow me time to gather my thoughts.

I make a layout, and journal right on the page. It saves me time and I can think up creative ways to make it all work.

I started using a "journal" to write things down in. I took it on my honeymoon and wrote in it every day to remember everything we did with detail.
Now I'm using it to document my first pregnancy.
When it comes time to scrapbook pictures and add journaling to the page, I just flip to the appropriate page and I'm done!

I like to keep my storytelling short and sweet! I never want to sit and read paragraph after paragraph (and who has the time?!) so I keep it under 100 words. Sometimes the best stories are the ones that only take a few sentences to tell!

I would say to keep up on it. I have pads of paper in the van, at home, on my kitchen counter and I try and catch up whenever I have a chance.

I generally wiil write down the firdt thoughts that pop into my head when I first see my photos. I'll then go back to those notes when I'm ready to scrap those photos.

Some days I fell more clear about writing than others. On the days I don't feel like I can accurately tell the story, I just write brainstorming concepts down and fill it in when I can put my sentences together in a more meaningful way.

I am not a big journaller - I like to get the facts and a feel thoughts on the page and thats about it. I usually just scratch it out, make minor edits and commit. If I over think it... it runs away from me - so I keep it simple.

I write the journaling on a separate piece of paper while scrapbooking, then leave it, rewrite it when the layout is finished and only then write it on the layout. This is the way I write everything, slooowly.

Keep small notebooks around and with you. Write it down when things happen. You always think you'll remember the details forever, but you really don't.

My best tip is to surround myself that inspire creativity and also remind me of whatever I'm scrapping. Also, the biggest tip is not to worry what it's going to look like, just write and feel and it'll turn out perfectly =)

I do a lot of travel albums and love to record, not only how I felt about being there and my adventures, but also "fun facts" about the location. For that I save all my brochures, flyers, etc. and use them to help remember the "fun facts."
