Wednesday Sponsor Giveaway : Get It Scrapped, Transparent Touches, & Blue Moon Scrapbooking
Get It Scrapped is giving away one spot in Pattie Knox's "More Mad Digital Skillz" online workshop.
Pattie Knox’s favorite part of digital scrapbooking is learning new techniques for creating realistic--as in “I can’t believe that’s not paper!”--layouts. In “More Mad Digital Skillz,” you’ll learn how to create torn edges on your photos and papers, how to insert photos into type, Pattie’s method for digital dry embossing, and much more about making your own brushes, working with custom shapes, and creating depth and interest with texture. Each lesson is accompanied by beautiful digital products from the talented artists at Designer Digitals—including Ali Edwards! Class starts May 25th at Get It Scrapped!

I love hidden journaling because I don't always want everyone to read it, sometimes it's just for the person it was written for.

I always carry around my little notebook in my purse, just a few key words can jump start my journaling when I sit down and write or type it out.

I love your calendar idea! I've done this on a few ocassions and it helps me to remember what I did that day. My paper calendar sits right next to my computer almost always...I'll be making notes on it more often. Thanks for the "reminder" to use it! :)

I like to ask questions and jot down the answers in a list format. It's quick and easy. Lisa L.

While traveling I always have a small stack of stapled papers with the dates for our trip on each page. This gives me a quick and easy way to journal sights we see or things we say ---vacation'isms'.

I use a theater/movie trick for setting a scene from college. It is amazing how alive a few journaling sentence can become when you reflect on your senses before you write. What did I hear, smell, see, touch, or taste?

I journal daily and try to write down as much as I can while I'm actually travelling. Captioning my pictures also helps - that way I can go back and grab a detail or two later.

My best tip would be to involve others in sharing the journaling when applicable. I've used prompts, surveys, Q&A's--having memories from others or all involved makes it that much sweeter of a memory captured.

In the past, I just wrote in my personal journal each night with whatever happened that day. It then makes it easy to journal for layouts later since I can just go back to my personal journal entry for that day to recall all the details! :)
Thanks for the chance to enter such great giveaways!!!

I have several tips:
1st when I take the picture I write the pic # in my notebook and ASAP jot down what I want to remember about it-otherwise I look back through my pics and wonder why I took it!
2ndly, I have used a tape recorder and/or camcorder and/or voice typing program on my computer to get some thoughts down when I ramble and can't type or write that fast...sometimes the thoughts and conversations happen so fast that I can't write that fast
Thirdly, I give paper to others and ask them what they remember about an event or photo and use that...before my daughter's graduation party, I sent cards with writing prompts on them to be filled out and returned to me to add to her scrapbook...like "my favorite memory of you is...", "when you were born, I felt..." and luckily my family loves doing this for me!
Sometimes I just use key words that trigger a memory for me to save time. My nephew (who is 8) wasn't feeling well and we were in the car, he told his mother to pull over b/c he was going to throw up...she did and he did...when we got back home he got out of the car (it was dark out) and he dropped to his knees in the driveway and spoke silently that he "couldn't make it to the door"... of course I took a pic and jotted down hockey (we were coming from his hockey practice), stop to throw up, down to knees with the quote...this was just enough to recall the whole story. And of course my personal blog is a great tool to use to record stories.
Thanks for the great giveaway...off to check them out...I've never heard of TTT...

WOW! What fabulous goodies being given away today! In doing Project 365 for 2009, I am learning that keeping a daily journal of the little things is so important...I'm not at expert at it yet...& I still struggle with writing things down daily, but it makes the process so much easier! It's those little moments that we so easily forget that need to recorded!

To get inspired to journal, I simply pick up a Sabrina Ward Harrison book. She is an incredibly honest, real and talented artist who has multiple volumes that inspire me every time. It doesn't matter what page I open to...it will trigger something inside of me that I can write about. My latest fave of hers is "Messy Thrilling Life." :)

I love to keep a little notebook in my purse...when things come to mind that I want to remember for a journal prompt or a funny line or something romantic my bf says...I write it down in there!

I have to write things down right after they happen so i don't forget. I have a notebook that I keep and when my kids say something I don't want to forget, I write it down. Kids say the most amazing things and I want to make sure I capture that on my pages.

A couple of things come to mind. I really like interview/dialogue style journaling with children. Rather than getting just one perscpective, it tells both sides and the reader can make their own impression. The othe thing I like is asking someone else to write the journaling fo a layout. Their thoughts may be completely different from your and its fun to see things/events in a new light.

I keep a notebook in my purse and always keep notes. Then I can refer back to it when I'm sitting down to create pages

I keep a small spiral notebook where I jot down funny things the kids say or do. Then, when I get ready to scrap, I look through there for inspiration or titles, etc. It has worked very well for me. Thanks!

I always free-write first, whatever comes out of my head. After I'm finished I'll go back and pare it down to something concise and manageable.
Thanks for the opportunity!
