my best tip is just do it. Don't worry about how the journaling sounds, or what your handwriting might look like. If it's something really personal, try hidden journaling.

My tip is to write it as you feel it. Don't go looking for other words for it to "sound better", it won't be as authentic :o)

I always write everything down to capture a moment or a thought for a layout because I think I am going to remember it and I never do!!! also I love using song lyrics on my layouts,,,,,,,

I always direct my journaling toward the audience I think will be reading. I have 3 kids and I write like I'm telling "them" the story. Makes it easier for me anyway.

Jot down all the memories you want to scrap later in a notebook with the date..cause I always seem to forget things over time and this is great to go back to.

My tip for journaling is to write like your telling a story to someone. I tend not to care as much about grammer and such and just let the words flow. I tend to emphasize the details to add flair since for most people certain moments stick out in your mind. I just love writing down the little tidbits and know this is my contribution to my book of life. I think it's easier and more fulfilling to know you are your own author and are documenting things for people to come along after you.

Most recently I have been using both Twitter and my blog to jot down stories that I want to tell. I find that more of the "real" details are recorded and my journaling is more authentic.

I love to journal from my four year old's point of view. Especially since most of my layouts involve him in one form or another!

Well, when I am journaling I try to pick a specific word or number from the page and focus on that...it makes it much easier.

I type my journaling into Word, so I can edit and spell check there...then hand write on my pages.

on my kids pages i always write my journaling as if speaking to the child. it makes it easier to write because i'm just telling them the story.

My best tip is to journal as soon after an event as possible. I keep a notebook and write my thoughts & impressions or just cute little things my daughter says that I want to scrap. My memory just can't hold it all so this way it is there and fresh when I finally sit down to scrap. :)

Now that my kids are older, I have often asked them to provide the journalling to show their thoughts and perspectives, rather than just always mine.

My tip is to use your own handwriting, at least a little bit in each album! Your loved ones will thank you :)

I like to approach the journalling on my layouts by deciding on the angle on the story that is important to me, with concrete details supporting that slant on the idea or event. Exploring themes and patterns in my life through my layouts is very important to me. For example, I just did a layout called "Schafelein" ("little lamb" in German), which ties together my memories of my grandma singing an old German hymn to me as a lullaby with the lamb toy I had as a child, a nighttime sprint to get back to the safety of Grandma's house, some moments from my Grandma's life that relate to both her Christian faith and her farm work, and a lamb toy that was in her bedroom when she died.

I like to jot down notes on the back of my layout than when i am ready to journal the notes are there to jot mny mind

I still feel like I could tell my stories better. My best tip is to have a calendar or notebook with you at all times. I just write it down as soon as I think about it. Even if I don't scrap it, I have that story written.
