It's really all about the food - lots more salads, grilled fish and fruits. Try to keep it light.

My favorite summer traditon is spending as much time as we can in Waterton National Park. Going there means seeing deer, hiking or biking in the mountains, and always enjoying an ice cream at the end of the day!

My favorite summer tradition is going out on the lake. My parents have a ski boat, so we go boating and explore. I don't waterski, but I love watching my parents, husband, and brother-in-law! We swim, relax, and have a picnic lunch. It's always a great day!

Making strawberry jam when the berries come on. There is a twist tho... it is usually the guys that are making the jam and this summer was no exception. My 19 year old 6'5" inch son wanted to learn how so I taught him on one batch and he went on to make 4 batches. DELISH!

My favorite summer tradition is outdoor theater at the American Players Theatre in Spring Green, WI. My daughter and I have had season tickets for years. We go to Saturday matinees and bring a lunch to share before the 3pm show. We always sit in the end two seats in the very last row, right below the lighting booth so we're assured of being in the shade. Shakespears, Shaw, O'Neal, etc., are always better at APT!

We go to free Movies in the Park at the amphitheater down by the river. The family friendly (mostly, we don't go to the ones that aren't) movies are so much fun. And this year I got to introduce my girls to The Princess Bride - which they LOVED!

We started a new tradition in our house this summer. It's called Family Fun Day. Our weekends start on Sunday since my husband works Saturdays. Which make Fridays a bummer. Since we live in a vacation spot it's hard to see everyone leave for their trips on Friday. So, now Fridays are fun. We do something different every week. Last week was dinner at the park. Yesterday was bubbles and balloons in the back yard. It's just a new way to spend time with family and make new memories!

My favorite summer tradition is the small fireworks show at my father in law's house with our family. He lives on a small lake and they always do a small show for the kids over the lake. We do a big BBQ before and give all the kids sparklers!

I love the our downtown has "Summer Movies on the Square" on Friday nights. There's entertainment until the sun goes down...belly dancers, classic rock bands, 50's rocabilly, really all sorts of performers. Then the movies start & high school band kids sell popcorn to raise money for their uniforms. The community comes out in droves to just hang out. It's one of my most favorite things to do in the summer!

My favorite summer tradition is fireworks at the 4th of July. Whether it was during my childhood at the beach with my parents & brothers or when my children were little at a mid-western park, watching the fireworks and remembering the birth of our nation has always been a special tradition for me.
