We live in a city with great neighborhood festivals and city-wide events. Our favorite tradition is going to these festivals as a family, hanging out, having fun, and eating well!

My favorite summer tradition is just being with family for our typical Memorial Day cookout. After Thanksgiving and Christmas we rarely get together all of us in one place and it's nice to see everyone once again and just have fun.

1,560 comments? Unbelievable! Anyhoo, my favorite summer tradition is going to the beach! Taking a break from the daily grind, packing up our swim suits, and heading to the Gulf. Mmmmm....nice.

Since I am a teacher, our summer traditions include sleeping late, big huge waffles in the mornings, and lazy days at the pool.

I love our 4th of July tradition. Parade in the morning, swimming in the afternoon, BBQ and then to the fireworks. It's always such a fun filled day.

Every summer we spend our Wednesdays going to the Flea Market and going to the Amish stores in Central PA. Another thing we do is go to this place in the country to pick our own blueberries and freezing them to have all year long.

We read books out loud when in the car going back and forth to the lake or on one of many car trips. In the past we have read the Harry Potter Series, and currently we are reading the Twilight Series.

My Favorite summer tradition has to be the 4th! I love that we alwasys have food at my moms and then go to the fireworks. Last year we were so early that we were the first people there! We had a blast playing catch and eating candy! I can't wait until this year!

Whipped cream! Once during the summer, I buy a bunch of cans of compressed whipped cream and either let my kids squirt them at each other in the yard (whipped cream war) or fill a plate and let them eat a plateful without using any silverware or hands. Always a good laugh and something silly they look forward to.

My favorite summer tradition: spending one on one time with my three sons. It's something that gets lost in all of the hustle and bustle of the school year. it's a blessing to just have them come into the kitchen one at a time and make breakfast together or bake cookies. I alternate the days so that they each get to be the special helper.
