• Cooked a marionberry crisp last night. Ate too much.
• Waiting to see if Anna's eyes are going to stay blue.
• Trying to be patient while Simon takes literally an hour to eat his meals ("put your bottom in the chair" is being said way too often).
• Enjoyed the new Harry Potter movie. Deciding whether to take Simon or just wait until it is out on video. Put the last book on my bedside table to re-read.
• Thinking about my 12 stories. It's likely that they will be used in my upcoming Yesterday & Today class for Big Picture (will post more when I know info on sign-up dates, etc). I was working on content last Friday when the 12 story question came to mind - it fits well with my goals/mission for the class (and is motivation for me to get them done).
• Eating blueberries. It's amazing how much better they are when they are in season.
• Looking forward to seeing my siblings and their families soon.

Curious what you think of Aperture---we've been considering it too. I hope you'll give us a review after you've worked with it a bit---please?! :) Thanks! P.S. we're loving all the fresh fruit too lately---we have a bunch of raspberries in the fridge just waiting to become jam!

Hi Ali,
Have you thought/heard of trying Simon on a cool water, softly filled, hot water-bottle. Not sure if that's what you call them in the US?
The blue one in this pic is what I'm having success with - in my kinder class at mealtimes. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hot_water_bottle
super cheap - and, recommended by an OT to us.
PS for the fun & "cool factor" we call them wiggly cushions. If all else fails, I pretend to use an imaginary glue-stick to adhere their bottoms to their seats. It's an ongoing subject, but we find that it's important, because of how much future learning in the child's life, will take place in a seated position ... xxxx

Had a smile on my face when reading this post :) My grandmother told me that if your child puts their foot in their mouth it meant you were pregnant again! Ok so in my case she was right (4 times) because as soon as they did this, I'd take a test a waahlaa. Not scientific but gotta love those old wives tales!!

I'll be interested to hear how you go with Aperture too. I just got it about a month ago and it has been quite a stuggle. However I also got a mac for the very first time, so I have been learning Aperture and Mac. If you are importing your images I would suggest make sure they are backed up, because a few times I have accidentally deleted everything as I try and find good ways of organising folders.
The videos as mention by above poster and brilliant, also good its its own user manual, the apple website and also the O'Reilly blog (I think it is called).

Fun to catch up - I've been on vacation with my parents and siblings...no children...FUN!! missed my family terribly, but was good to relax and rejuvenate myself!
I have one child, that never sits in the chair...always on her toes (crouched)...I gave up that battle...it may be our chairs...it never happens at a restaurant...pick and choose!
Now I'm thinking about 12 stories...great motivation!

I love the picture of the adorable feetsies!
My eyes were sapphire blue until I was 7 years old. My mama told me that they just changed overnight, even though I'm not so sure that this is possible. It's a little weird though because my mama has brown eyes and my dad has green eyes. My eyes are now hazel that mostly just look grey blue depending on what I'm wearing : )
I'm hoping Anna's stay blue!

Hi Ali,
Must be a normal 7 YO thing to not want to sit during dinner. Mine is having the same problem lately. And you are right, it takes forever. But I too am practicing patience.
My opinion on the HP thing. I saw HP the other night, and I was thoroughly scared during a few scenes. I'm not going to let my 7 YO see it just yet. I think in a year or two when it's out on dvd, I will let him see it though. However, your family just may be tougher skinned than we are. I am a whimp when it comes to scary movies. Harry Potter is about as scary as I go.

I have a picture just like this of me and my daughter. It's one of our favorites - in fact she had it framed and gave it to me for Mother's Day a few years ago. Love it!

I hear ya, Ali! "Bellybutton to your plate, please." "Feet on the floor." "No pacing during meals." "Sit down, please." "Get you fork out of your toes!!" Those phrases are said multiple times per meal.....some for one kidlet, the rest for the other. I'm thinking about tatooing them to my forehead, palms, and arms and just pointing the appropriate body part with the appropriate message toward the appropriate child. Oh wait...probably should wait until my daughter is reading. Hmmmmm......plan B??

thanks for sharing such darling pictures.
I liked the new Hp movie too, I wish they had more of the "real battle" between the death eaters and the Hogwarts students, but I enjoed it. I'm going to wait until it is in DVD to show it to my son.

Love your silly photo! Can totally relate to the mealtime experience, although for me, it's the younger one. Can't wait to find out more about your BPS class.
And yes, we tried and the bought Aperature (so my hubby told me), but I haven't tried it yet. I'm the one with the massive library of photos on my computer, so I guess I'd better get on that. ;)
