My favorite was when we went on a vacation to Tennessee. My brothers and I thought we would be bored, but we went to the Grand Ol' Oprey, Dollywood, horseback riding, golfing, fishing...you name it! The best was my aunt teaching me how to country line dance on a pontoon boat, now THAT was interesting :)

Favorite childhood summer memory has to be playing outside after dinner with all the kids in the neighborhood and waiting for Mr. Softee to come down the street; we'd sit on the curb and eat our ice cream before we had to go in to go to bed!

As a child we belonged to a lake. We would head there in the late morning and stay through dinner. Always lots of fun there. I also remember always being outside as a child- we would play kick the can and dog and deer.

I love Elle's Studio. One of my favorite childhood memories was biking along the river to the falls. Times were different and I could go alone, as long as I'd come back every 2-3 hours to check in.

We spent most summer days at the beach. Depending on the tide, we would set out and collect my father from work. Mum always packed this large square tupperware container with our lunch. We used to love crisp sandwiches.

A yearly trip to a condo on the beach, floating in the ocean with my mom and grandmother on rafts, and eating orange creamsicle ice cream.

One of my favorite childhood memories... before moving ot California... it was living on the farm... and bailing hay was one of the most memorable... after all the bails were made, we'd make forts in them, with tunnels and everything... but the best part of the day was going to the A&W Drive-In with my grandfather... and having a frosty mug of root beer with him... ahhhhhhhhhh I can taste it now!!! Don't ya just love ice cold root beer on a hot summer day!!!

My favorite memories were spending a few overnights at my grandparents' farm. A few times my grandpa came in early in the morning to tell me a foal had been born or the cat had had her kittens. Then he'd take me to see the new babies. :)

A favorite summertime memory as a child, would be going down to the creek and catching minnows, just after going to the butterfly trail and trying to catch butterflies. It is the simple things, that seem to stay with you over the years...

Brooklyn, many summers in the 70s; getting on the F train to Coney Island with my father, mother and 4 sisters. Leaning up against the glass once the train was outstide so that you could see all of Brooklyn. The F train was my favorite ride.

My favorite summer memory is getting into bed, at night, after my bath (we would have been thoroughly covered in dirt). The sheets would be clean and cool and would soothe those grass cuts on our legs.

My favorite childhood memories of summer are of going to Lake Michigan or northern Michigan on family camping trips. Building sand castle, collecting stones that washed up, etc. Another fond memory is going to Gettysburg with my uncle and cousins on what had to be a super long car trip and my uncle didn't come unglued!I recall having a great time.

Hmm, tricky - no single memory stands out, but I do remember long hot days where I'd go off exploring the fields near my house for hours on end, going home only when I felt hungry. I remember feeling free, happy and contented...
