My favorite summer memories happened at the country club we belonged to. I went there everyday and spent the entire day there all summer long. I swam, played tennis, ate at the snack bar and hung out with all my friends. Fourth of July was the best day of all. They had games all day long, a buffet and fireworks at night. I'm still friends with some of those people today! Thanks for the chance to win.

I loved catching fireflies on warm summer nights and putting them in a jar or bottle and watching them light up !!! It created a beautiful twinkling glow.

Favorite memories of summer are all about going to my grandparents house on the lake and getting into all kinds of mischief with the kids who came to the summer "camps" on the lake. Riding bikes, exploring the woods, picking wild berries, looking for crawfish and skipping stones. That's what summer was for me. :)

It was a summer treat to have homemade ice cream. The anticipation while mom mixed it all together, taking turns cranking the handle (dad's turn was always came around faster), the big chunky rock salt and the ice cold water draining from the overflow hole. There is nothing like that first bite--worth every minute of waiting.

My favorite childhood memory was hearing my Dad say come on were going for a ride. This usually happened on Sunday afternoons. We would all pile in whatever old car we had at the time and we would be off on an adventure. Those were the good old days. I've said it before here, I really miss my dad, I'm so glad I have my scrapbooks.

My fav. memory is my sister and I swimming at the local pool, and having each having $2 to spend on lunch there....which would always be a long licorice rope-a kids fav. meal!

My favorite childhood memories are the trips me and my parents made to the beach. (We live closeby the sea) Building sandcastles. And especially eating cherries and strawberries at the beach.

I loved playing outside after dark and catching lightingbugs. It has been a long time since I have seen one around. I still live in the same neighborhood that I grew up in but it is much more developed now. I often think it is a shame that my kids missed out on some of the more simple pleasures I knew as a child. Progress, I am not sure it is always a good thing.

my favorite summery memory is that we were outside after breakfast and didn't come in until suppertime...the days felt like they went on forever until it was time to watch the fireflies.

We used play hide and seek in the dark every night. We had many rules but one was you couldn't go more than two rows into the corn field. Happy memories.

It would have to be hearing that glorious sing-song alert of the incoming ice cream truck to our subdivision! Then the full speed run to the truck in panic that he wouldn't see me and would keep going :-)

My fav summer memory was a road/camping trip that we went on across North Eastern Oregon. We were gone for 2 weeks and visited Chief Joseph's grave and other fun places. The best thing was my dad was able to go with us. He was working for the state forestry dept then and always was "on call" during the summer in case there was a forest fire so we usually went camping with just my mom.

My favorite Summertime memory would be swinging on the swings until the firefly's came out and then chasing them, catching them in our hands and watching them glow. :-D

Road trips! We did a lot of traveling in the summertime - & I loved it. We got to see a lot of different places & I wouldn't trade the memories we made together as a family for anything.

I dig Elle's Studio. My fave summer memory is hanging by the neighborhood pool all day with my mom and little sister. My mom was a school teacher so she was off all summer and make it her priority to have the best tan in the land.
