I got inspired this week with some free fabric that was given to me. My husbands Birthday is next week and he needed/wanted a place to make lists and write notes. So I made him a book with the fabulous plaid fabric. I love it and think I will make more.

I'm inspired by living in a vibrant, beautiful, eco-conscious community called Boulder, Colorado. I'm inspired by the spectacular mountains, the bike commuters, the street musicians, the farmers market, the nightlife, the outdoor cinema...really, summer in Boulder is hard to beat!

I am inspired lately by children's picture books...there's such a diversity of text (which I am always drawn to) and colors and illustrations. I did a lo of pics from the 4th of July based on a children's book page I saw with a night scene with a starry sky. I punched stars from pp and cut flowers out of the same pp that became fireworks bursting in the black background sky. The pp was quite graphic, and it worked out great. I had fun drawing motion lines around the 'fireworks'. The pics were of family watching fireworks so I placed them on some cut green hills and it all worked. I titled it "Oh, what a night"

WOW! So cool, Ali.
Inspiring me lately has been the crummy weather summer we're having. There is something about the biting wind in the evening that carries whispers to unknown distances.

I traveled to SE Alaska this summer and am totally inspired by creation and the immense beauty of nature itself and in the inherent goodness of people. Alaska's beauty is far beyond words, but I did hear someone call it "God's Country" and I believe that would be correct. And in people because I lost my cell phone on the way home on a bus and someone found it, and mailed it back to my home, unbeknown to me. It was quite an uplifting trip.

Great giveaway! Right now I'm inspired by photos of my incredible vacation to London & Cornwall where some of my family from New Zealand had gathered. (Oh & also realizing how far behind I am with my daughter's scrapbook is pretty good motivation, if not inspiration).

I am inspired by my best friend, Wendy who not only is one of the most creative people I know, but has instilled that creativity in her children. They have a family studio where each of them (and occasionally a visiting Auntie) has a space to explore and create.

I'm inspired by feeling healthy again after being sick for several weeks. Ready to break out some supplies and get crafty. Oh, how easy it is to take good health for granted. Life just isn't quite the same when mama is sick.

I've been inspired by bright colours lately. Not my normal style, but isn't that what inspiration is all about??

I subscribe to several photography blogs (all by women, though that's just by chance) and recently have been inspired to try some new composition techniques by the photos on their blogs. I'm also lusting for a macro lens, but that will have to wait.

my little nephew's 7 th birthday party today will have a hawaiian island theme. nicholas picked it all himself. i am inspired that he didnt go for the action heros or cartoons, and he loved going to the party store to pick out all the decorations with my sister, his mom. he is allowing his own unique style to show thru, and i am going to do that today myself, wearing a shell necklace my husband bought me on my honeymoon last year.
